UFC Realism and Knife Realism: Responses to Criticisms

After reading my two previous articles, "Is UFC Fighting Realistic?" and "What Kind of Knife Defenses are Realistic?", some people apparently find fault with various points I have made in them. Do I know what I am talking about, or am I somewhere off in la-la land? I offer the following point-by-point responses to these criticisms so that you may decide for yourself.

In the martial arts world of today, two approaches have become discernable in empty-hand defenses against a knife attack, often thought of as the "classical" approach vs. the "realistic" approach. But what truly is "realistic" between these two viewpoints?

Is UFC fighting really the closest thing to being a sport version of street fighting? How close is it?
