Habitat: These fish can be found in calm shallow areas of lakes and large river bays.

Diet: Largemouth Bass like to eat insects, minnows, leeches, frogs, and mice.

Bait: Soft Plastic worms and frogs, surface lures, crankbaits and jigs will serve as a very tasty meal.

Northern Pike:

Pike are solitary. Females grow larger, faster, and live longer than males do. These can live up to 26 years!

Habitat: Pike are found in lakes where the water is either still or in slow currents.

Diet: Pike will eat anything that swims because of their big size and teeth! Their favorites are other fish such as perch. Frogs and mice , muskrats and duckling provide meals as well!

Bait: Trolling spoons with the colors of white and red are most effective. You can also use large crank baits and surface lures.

Muskellunge:

The History of Baseball

Baseball is a very fun sport to play because you get to hang out with people you know. In addition, baseball is very challenging because you have to have good hand eye coordination. I am a fan of this sport because I like to be involved in sports that are interesting. Next, you have to have a few things to play baseball like a bat, ball, field, and players. I know that baseball was created in Canada, a long time ago and they used a broomstick for a bat and a ball for a baseball. Most of the players who played baseball first were mostly white people.

Some things I want to find out about baseball are as follows: What year was baseball invented? Who invented baseball? Why was it invented? Was it called something else before it was called baseball? Who were the first people to play it? Next, I want to find out who was the first player to hit a homerun? Finally, my last thing I want to know about baseball is who was the first pitcher to pitch a no-hitter?

While using my internet source, I found many things about baseball that I did not know, like the first game ever played was on June 4, 1838 in Ontario , Canada . Next, I found out that the first real team was the Cincinnati Red Stockings. In addition, I found out that baseball derived from a few games like rounders and town ball. Baseball was mostly invented for white people but they had Negro leagues too. The last thing I found out about baseball while using my internet source is that the designated hitter, (DH) rule came into play in the early 1970's.

While I was researching my topic in several books, I found out a lot of information that I did not know. I found out that the American league joined the MLB association in 1882. Baseball was also a free uniquely American creation. During the Great Depression, baseball was not very interesting to the fans. In 1939, the Official Baseball Museum was built honoring the sport and the best of the best that played it. “Take me out to the Ball game” is a usual ritual during a baseball game and is usually played during the seventh inning. This is what I learned about baseball while researching the sport

The person I interviewed was my dad. He used to play baseball when he was younger. He told me a lot of information about baseball that I did not know. He told me that he was an O.K. player but he was very fast. His least favorite part about baseball is when you are in the field trying to get the outs. In addition, he said that when he played in the outfield he had to run a lot . On the other hand, his favorite part is that you are playing with your friends and getting good exercise to stay in shape. Next, he said, “That he still enjoys watching the Pittsburgh Pirates play”. His interests about baseball are the time you spend playing and the way you feel after you play a game of baseball.

I have learned many new things about baseball when I was writing my “I-Search” paper. I learned a lot of new information like it was first played in Canada . Next, that the American League joined baseball after the National League did. Thirdly, that baseball was not very popular during the Great Depression. Fourthly, I learned that they always play “Take me out to the Ball game” during every game during the seventh inning stretch. The last thing I learned about baseball is that the first team to play was the Cincinnati Red Stockings.

How to 360 Flip

The videos didn’t help you, but this probably could. I don’t care what anybody says, but 360 flips are the hardest to land hands down! The 360 flip consist of your back foot with a sweeping/scooping motion and a little flick at with your front foot, basically a 360 pop-shovit, and a kick flip.

When trying to learn the 360 flip (also known as the 3-flip and tre flip) it really take hard work and dedication, you don’t have to get down 360 pop-shovit, but you do have to get down varial just to sort of get the feel of landing a flipping and turning board.

The Scoop:

Your back foot should be have your toes hanging off the tail where the concave is, (which is the curve) so it’ll be like your feet are grasping the concave like a hook. When you have that make sure you scoop really, and make you back foot scoop so it’s behind your front foot.

The Flip:

Your front foot as everyone should know should be at a point for instance like the kick flip, its pointing straight, so your front foot should turn so the toes are aiming towards the concave, and should be around the middle of the board. When you scoop, shoot your front foot straight. NOT side but straight, that should center the board under you.

The Land:

This is the hardest part. Make sure your feet are apart so that you try to land on the bolts. Jump high, watch the board, and let gravity take you down. You won’t get it the first try but you’ll get it by time. The 360 flip is just like the kick flip just practice and practice, and you’ll land it soon.

Problems/Solutions:

The board is not turning 360 degrees: Just use your front foot to give a push like the varial, but don’t forget to slide your foot straight up.

The board isn’t staying under me: Scoop and slide you foot at the same time so that when you scoop the slide will center the board.

I can’t land on the board, and sometimes I land with my back foot, but close to the nose: Just time your scoop and when you slide your front foot. Jump high. Watch the board.

So just get out skate and have fun. When you have your 360 flip down just have fun with it and do it over stairs do it over gaps and do it everywhere with every variations.

Surfing for Beginners: What Not To Do

There are a few things in surfing that you try not to do. And some beginner's don't know what these things are and the result can be a few very ticked off people. Here are a few things to keep in mind to send a friendly message to a few other surfers.

Dropping in on People
Dropping in on someone is when someone catches a wave and you catch it as well and get in front of them thus getting in their way. Some people really hate this and get very mad. So when you're catching a wave, be aware of where other people are and let the person with the best position on the wave (usually closest to the curl) have the wave.

Hitting Boards
This can be caused by just not paying attention or not being aware. Some people get very mad when you put a ding in their board. Although this might very well happen to some surfers. It just kind of happens. But still avoid it.

Getting Hit
If you hit someone with your board then most people would probably get very pissed. Hey, if you hit me with a rock hard surfboard I would get pretty mad. You will probably find yourself paddling out and a guy is surfing and is coming very close to you. Either he isn't paying attention in which this case you bail (bodies before boards, seriously) if he is going to hit you and if he is going to come really close then paddle to the side of the direction that he isn't going, even if it means you go right into the whitewash (but if it's like a huge wave 3 times your height, do your best not to get clobbered sideways).

Hitting People
When you surf especially on a busy day, you always got to be aware of other people. I wouldn't go surfing in a really crowded spot if there was a lot of beginners or if I was a beginner because some beginners don't really get the turning thing right away or wipe out and soon as they attempt it. Wiping out right in front of someone is very bad. You should try not to shoot your board at them and immediately grab your leash and pull hit in as a last resort effort to not have your board fly into their face.

If you are about to hit someone and you have the ability to turn, gesture for them to go one way so you can go the other and reduce chances of hitting. If you are the one about to be hit by a board with no rider, just bail and go underwater.

Well there are some tips that will help you prevent injury to yourself, others, and make less people angry. Good luck surfing!

Simple Skateboarding Tricks

Basics:

Let's get to know your skateboard. If you already know allot about your skateboard skip this section. For you who are new to all of this I'm going to name the parts. Trucks. Your trucks are the metal bindings strapped to the bottom of your board and have your wheels. Wheels, wheels let your skateboard roll.

Bearings, bearing are inside your wheels that let the wheel roll freely while bolted to the truck. Grip Tape, grip tape is the black tar-like film on the top side of the board. Deck, the deck is pretty much just a curved piece of thick wood.

Since we just found out about our skateboard let's learn about the gear to make you safer on a skateboard. Helmet, a skateboard helmet is best but any helmet would work. Pads, you need knee, and elbow pads for most times when you fall you fall on your knees or head or elbows.

Guards, wrist guards are very important for new skaters for most people learn to catch them selves with their hands. When falling let your shoulders and legs take the fall. Don't know what the front and back of the board is? See which one is tilted vertically at the end, that would be the end.

Simple Riding:

Before you ride you should stretch. Being tense raises your chances of falling. To start

stand up and relax, just relax. Then reach down to your toes as far as you can. Hold that for 10 seconds. Now you should sit, legs out in front and reach for your toes hold it for 10 seconds. Limber out your arms too. Arms help you keep your balance. Roll your ankles a few times. Limber up your body try and not to be tense.

Let's now go out and get ready to go! Put on your helmet and pads. When buying pads get the ones that have socks for your arm/leg and 2 straps. Helmet should just be a helmet if you have fallen on your helmet and the padding inside can be pulled out I suggest buying a new one.

Now let's get ready to ride. Hop on your board. Put your feet where you feel comfortable. Usually put your feet on the bolts. Let's first learn how to move. To begin keep your feet firm on the board. Take your back foot off and plant it firmly on the ground. Proppel your foot and your moving. But the hard part is learning how to put your foot back on. Pick your foot up and place it back on the board.

Simple Tricks:

After getting used to riding your skateboard you probably want to learn some tricks. The first trick every skater should know is the simple ollie. The ollie is the hardest trick to learn because your not used to jumping with a skateboard so I'll teach you how to do a simple ollie. First thing is the placement of your feet. Put your back foot flat on the tail of your board (back) and put your foot right in the middle in between the bolts. Now it's time to start the trick.

To start snap the back of your tail so it hits the ground. After it's rising the tail slaps the ground and the board start rising you should lift your knees up so it hits you in the chest. The board should start being at the peek of its rise. Now it's time to put your feet on top of the board. Make sure you bend your knees while landing to absorb the shock and not to hurt your knees.

Now you want to learn some other tricks along with your sweet ollie. Let's go with the manual. The manual is the same thing as a wheelie except on a skateboard. It's very simple to do just set up the same way as an ollie except put your front foot on the bolts. Push down on the tail but not so hard that it hits the ground just enough for the front wheel to come off the ground. Now keep your balance while riding along and you did it!

Now you want another trick to make a sweet combo right? Well all you have to do is learn the caveman.

Just hold your skateboard in one hand and jump and put your feet on the top still holding your board together. If you let go of your board the board can turn and you can hurt yourself. now just land flat by the time your feet are flat on the board then you can take your hand off and land safely.

More Complex Tricks:

Now you learned those super cool tricks but now they're way too easy and your bored of mastering your simple tricks. So well learn the kickflip. The kickflip is the hardest trick to learn except after you mastered it everything is simple.

To start your kickflip set up like an ollie. Snap your tail so the board rises. Slide your front foot up with the side of your shoe once you get to the nose flick your toe. I call it flicking because its like flicking the fly away! Now after it start spinning get out of the way. After the board spins all the way around once put your foot flat on the board bend your knees and roll away. Now master it!

Now set your feet up like an ollie (again) and flick the tail (again) start pushing pressure the ball of your foot and move your back foot off so the board can spin freely after completing one spin put your foot on the board flat so you can land.

Now you wanna connect all those tricks together? But how! I could use a manual but those are boring so let's try... a nose manual. The nose manual is way harder than a regular manual because your supposed to lean back and press forward. So set up in a nollie well ill put it this way front foot flat on the nose and back foot in the middle of the board. So all you have to do is press down with your front foot and lean back with your body and balance with your arms.

Troubleshooting:

When you're feeling good and go skate and then oh no you figured out you left the oven on with the napkin
in. Well that happens to everyone but if you think about it within your trick you can hurt yourself BADLY by chicken footing black footing or breaking your board.

What do these mean well ill tell you. Chicken footing is when you're ollieing and you think it's going good but your back foot seems to land on the ground. That hurts if your rolling because you can go into "ripped pants-acoma". Now black footing is pretty much falling just when you fall you chicken foot and hit's you.

Now breaking your board is kinda hard. But there are many ways to hurt yourself breaking your board. One way is when you land an ollie you land in the middle of the board and snaps in two. Shards of wood can go into your legs or worse go into your leg.

Ending:

I've hurt myself so many times skateboarding. Scraped knees, road rash, broken ankles, broken wrists. Remember, stay a skater - not a hater! Be safe not sorry when you've broken a bone!

skateboarding is a dangerous sport; remember to stay safe!
