Aggressive Inline Skate Wheel Comparison

I recently bought some wheels to compile information about different companies and they are respective wheels. The wheels I purchased were:

SENATE '03 MORALES 56/88

EULOGY AUSTIN FACE 54/88

The Senates cost $25 USD and the Eulogies cost $28 USD. Please take in that I did not buy these at Roller Warehouse, I bought them at my local skate shop. The prices may differ from the cost at Roller Warehouse. In addition, the Senates were packaged with new bearings. The bearing overview will be the last of my three-part report.

These wheels are very slick. They are flat topped, which means they really do not need any breaking in, unless you are used to cess sliding on smaller wheels. I am, and I flew straight forward when I attempted one. The designs are also very nice.

Many people commented on the overall appearance and that the wheels were already broken in. They said this before I went airborne on a Royale cess. The other tester in this procedure also commented that the wheels were strange during the street test, which as compared to the Eulogies also tested; they had a smooth ride, even on rough textured ground.

Additionally, when we conducted the grinding, the wheel almost never interfered with the grind plates, or any other part of the skate. The only time it was a problem was during a top soul to an fs savannah, the front wheel of my back foot touched my right skate on the boot as I switched from the top soul. I really enjoyed these wheels and they were great with my ABEC bearings.

I liked them so much; in fact, when the street tester was done I took them! I believe for this price and the fact that bearings of any kind are an added bonus. I have been riding these day in and day out, street, park and vert and no visible wear or tear.

Eulogy Austin Face 54/88mm

These were the second pair we tested. Although they are rather soft, they rode good down ramps and in the park. Sadly, when we took them for a spin out on street, they were, well… bad. My pair was torn all to hell after just a couple of minutes doing simple airs off curbs. My friend’s pair did not do much better. He took his off, complaining of a chip. We popped his out and saw pure destruction. The urethane was chipping and cracking in many places. He ended up skating his Senate Morales because he could not ride the Eulogies. I strongly agree that these wheels are very bad for street or even parks with imperfections in ground. These were not worth money we paid for them.

Senate ABEC 5 bearings

These bearings were included with the Senate Morales ‘03 wheels in the Kill team box. These bearings are great as spares, although I accidentally skated home one day and the ground was only slightly damp, and I did not skate in puddles.

I got home and the bearings were shot. They barely spun, and I had to oil them for two days afterward to make them spin half way as good as before. These are good bearings; just make sure you DO NOT GET THEM WET! If you do, you can pretty much say good-bye to your bearings. Although they are good, they are not perfect.

Please keep this in mind when you purchase, and you might consider getting new bearings.
