Envision, if you will, red rock canyons, mountainous terrain, and the haunting howl of the coyote as the desert becomes alive, bursting with the assorted array of brilliant cacti and wild flowers. A wide range of mysterious, beautiful and fascinating landscapes, infused with the refreshing serene smell, tranquility, and freedom of riding a motorized bicycle on Arizona route 79.

Arizona route 79 travels between Oracle Junction, north of Tucson, and Florence Junction, east of Phoenix. The road is also known as the Pinal Pioneer Parkway between Oracle Junction and Florence.

Dedicated to fairracing 31

"My most pleasant memories was going to Florence, AZ. It was spring time and I was going down route 79. The wild flowers were blooming it was so colorful I had forgotten how beautiful the desert can be. Their where so many flowers I could smell them."

"I was enjoying the ride so much. I remember thinking if I was in a car, I would not even notice how beautiful thing's are. If I was on a motorcycle, I would just zoom past everything and not even notice.. I felt good that day, I was so glad that I was on my Motorized Bicycle."
Traveling through pristine conditions, enjoying the desert scenery, fairracing31, on his motorized bicycle was mere feet away from a historic moment from the old west.

It was a dark and cold November morning in 1889. The lawmen escorted seven Apache prisoners into a stagecoach and headed up the hill, bound for the train at Casa Grande that would take them to Yuma Territorial Prison.

The coach was too heavy. The driver ordered most passengers to walk while he negotiated the slope.

Reynolds was a crack pistol shot, but that morning he wore a long coat over his pistols. He carried a shotgun. Prisoners were manacled in pairs, one wrist to one wrist, one ankle to another ankle. They had mobility and free hands, and they used them. They jumped Reynolds and killed him with his shotgun. Hunkydory died of a heart attack.

Be sure to veiw the great rides at Motorbicycling.com and experience a part of American from the veiw of a motorized bicycle.

Motorized bicycles get up to 150 MPG and travel 20 to 35 MPH on average. Beat the oil crunch and see Americana at a slower pace, while enjoying the sights and smells, and maybe the lone howl of the coyote.
