The 11 Worst Plays in Basketball History

Some people just shouldn't be playing the sport of basketball. Whether it be slow foot speed, not being coordinated or possibly poor vision, poor basketball is just inevitable when some people step foot on the court. Not that it isn't funny for us. I've gathered the top 10 worst basketball plays of all time for everyone's enjoyment:

Chris Kaman

Another big man not playing his size. Chris Kaman gets a great lane to the basket, but doesn't use his size to take advantage of it. Instead he throws up a weak airball layup, which luckily, he caught and put down the second time.

David Wesley

Some men make it into the NBA by sheer luck. David Welsey is one of those men. On this layup he makes a mistake that most elementary school kids manage to avoid, not watching the court in front of you. He dribbles towards the basket and does not look up until he is right under the hoop.

Derek Fisher

Derek Fisher has no one in front of him on a fast break against the Houston Rockets. All he has to do is nail this easy lay in and Utah will lead by three points. Even if he misses this shot, he's got another three teammates behind him waiting to correct his mistake. Fisher misses the shot and somehow his teammate makes an even worse mistake. Houston passes the ball down the court and Yao Ming scores. Houston leads 54-53.

Shawn Bradley

This man will make a few more appearances in the top (or bottom) 10, I can assure you. Shawn Bradley made it into the NBA not on ability, but on his 7'6" frame. He was dunked on by literally everyone in the NBA during his career including Derek Fisher (the same Derek Fisher that appeared in number 9) right here.

Lamar Odom

I'm really not sure what he was doing here. I guess someone needs to explain the basics of basketball to him. Wow. Turnover Lakers in the 4th quarter, all hopes for a comeback dashed.

Shawn Bradley

He's back! Shawn Bradley once again shows us how not to play defense. Gets dunked on by Tracy McGrady bad. When you're 7'6" people should never be jumping over you.

Random Kid in a Youth League

I have no idea who this is or if it is even a kid. There really isn't any information about this video other than it being seen on G4 TV. Basically, this kid can't shoot. The ref and everyone in the gymnasium starts laughing at him. You almost feel bad for him.

Shaquille O'Neal

Did you really think we could get through this list without a video of Shaq not hitting a foul shot? Please. Here Shaq shows us how not to shoot a freethrow. I'm not sure what he was aiming at, but if he was trying to get nothing-but-net without scoring, he succeeded.

J.J. Reddick

Yet another example of a Duke player being completely overrated and not delivering in the NBA. Orlando has to be mad that they drafted the man who more or less blew any chance they had of a comeback during this game. Wow. Everyone join me in chanting "Overrated! Overrated!"

Shawn Bradley

Instead of doing the easy thing and just finishing my list with two Shawn Bradley videos I've decided to post a mix. Everyone trashes Bradley on his play, this is an ESPN Sports Center countdown of him. Just enjoy watching Bradley get dunked on by men half his size over and over again.

Everyone Shawn Bradley Dunked On and Rejected

Here we go. Shawn Bradley didn't get the number one spot like we all know he deserved. Instead, everyone who managed to not dunk on Shawn Bradley or allowed Shawn Bradley to dunk on them gets the number one spot. Here's a ton of highlights of Bradley playing well and actually living up to his number two draft pick.

Fundamentally, It's Golf

Golf is a bit like chess, you have to constantly analyze your moves and your position, in the case of golf, that means, in a general sense, analyzing your swing and your course management abilities.

This, believe it or not, is one of the many enjoyable parts of our favourite game, too many golfers get their enjoyment only from a good result which leads them to feeling frustrated most of the time.

The pros, at least the top pros, all have help from a lot of different sources, eg. swing coach, mental coach, coarse analysts, and of course not forgetting their caddy who does a lot more than just carry their equipment for them.

Most of us, however, have to rely on nothing more than ourselves and maybe a few lessons from the local pro now and again, so getting to know our own swing and adapting what we have is imperative and a good pro will help us achieve this when we do get a lesson.

Our local pro is not with us when we are playing golf, so his advice on correcting our swing faults is not available when we most need it. This is why we have to be able to analyze our own swing and get to know each and every part of it.

As far as our swing goes, it's the basics that we struggle to get right, if we don't know the fundamentals then we have nothing to rely on when things go wrong, that fundamental method that we know works every time and gives us a straight shot, no heroics, no great distance, but something that we know will produce a certain outcome.

In order to get the basics right, we have to be aware of our swing, the path it is taking, and whether the club face is square at impact. Getting our stance right is less important, an open or closed stance should not matter if the swing trajectory and club face is right, it is still possible to produce an accurate and straight shot, the only part of our stance we need to get right is what they call the athletic stance, straight back, chin up, bend from the hips. Apart from these, it's your personal swing that you have to work with.

When most golfers are preparing for a shot, they take a couple of practice swings and concentrate on... what?

Usually, a lot of things like, are they lined up right, is the club head just skimming the grass at the right spot, is their left arm straight..., and a whole collection of other things. What they should be concentrating on is the swing, they should be aware of what the club is doing during it's complete journey from being at rest all the way through the back swing until it returns to the impact zone. Not just the trajectory of the club, but also what is happening to the club face.

Once we stand up to the ball, get our balance right and take a look at the green, trust in your own natural ability that you will be lined up correctly, you really don't have to worry about that, our brains are well capable of doing this automatically.

So next time your on the course or at the driving range, trust your mind to control the things it can and concentrate instead on what your swing is doing, once you get proficient at that, the basics will become obvious and, more to the point, you will understand them and be able to return to them whenever you need to.

My own golf site is young and still growing, but it has some information, some quirky and some of a more conventional nature, but it still has a long way to go with more being added as time permits, most of all it is supposed to be fun. I hope you enjoy it.

Basics of Cricket:

The sport of cricket is a very graceful and fascinating sport. It is the national sport of England, and most every country plays it internationally except for the United States. Well, here are the basics.

In cricket, the game usually has two teams, each consisting of 11 players. There is a toss or a coin flip if you please, and the winning captain chooses whether his team bats or bowls first. If your team is batting first, you will go stand in front of the wickets and wait for the bowler to toss the ball down the pitch. After the bowl, the batsman hits the ball with the paddle and runs to the other end of the pitch; they do this as many times as they can before the bowler gets the ball back. There are many ways to get out, if a bail sitting atop of the wicket gets knocked off they the batter is out. The team stays at batting until all of their players have been out at least once. The field is shaped like a big oval with many different types of positions. The out and midfielders wear no equipment unlike some infielders who wear gloves to catch oncoming balls.

Well, there is much more to cricket then that, but that would be a very basic overview if you just wanted to get the jest of it.

The Basics of Snooker

Snooker is a sport that is played with two players with two cues. The full sized table, which is 3.6m by 1.8m is the table that is used for professional players, such as Ronnie O' Sullivan and Neil Robertson. The sport is played by using the cue, to hit the white ball, (otherwise known as the cue ball) onto either a red or coloured ball into any of the six pockets available. There are 15 red balls and a coloured ball of each: Yellow worth 2 points, Green worth 3 points, Brown worth 4 points, Blue worth 5 points, Pink worth 6 points, and Black worth 7 points. Snooker is a sport that is very well known in British countries and places like China.

Snooker is a much more difficult game than it looks. It may look easy by sinking a endless amount of balls into the pockets, but it require immaculate timing, steadiness and technique in order to pot consistently. Snooker is one of the sports that does not require much strength and reactions that is much needed for other sports making this sport a lot less stressful and painful at long periods. Some of the biggest tournaments are: The World Championship, UK Championship, Grand Prix, Welsh Open, China Open, Shanghai Masters and the Northern Ireland Trophy. Quite obviously as it would seem, the World Championship is regarded as the best snooker tournament in the world. Winning this tournament means you are officially the greatest player and in financial terms, you make a decent sum of money for winning.

Some of the most amazing things to watch out for top players is hitting amazing high breaks. Breaks is the total score a player has managed to make in one visit to the table. The century break is only achievable for experienced players and good technique, whilst the maximum break, (147) is only achievable by the hugely professional players. The maximum break can only be achieved by potting the red then black alternatively.

All in all, I hope this information on Snooker has made you want to give this sport a try. If you're interested in playing Snooker then visit your local club and get practicing.
