Golf Swing Tips

How to hit the ball solid?

For the new golfer who has a problem with his swing. Often, if you hit the top of the ball and hit the ground before you hit the ball. This discussion makes an effort to examine how to hit the ball solid. I hope this golf swing tip will help you improve your game.

You have a wealth of information to Plogen through other answers "when they have eaten all of that depth is confused and goes back to the basics. Develop a swing plane". This suggests the need for his position, put the ball in the same position each club you choose. Make a rhythm that fits into a pattern that pattern is repeated in a recession and follow through and finished with his belt buckle (or navel) to fly from his ball. Remember, Swing through the ball, not ball.

But it slowly back swing is a good tip, too, so you can keep your head down. However, keep an eye on the ball causes a tendency to lift our heads to keep shooting. I recommend that you look at a point on the ground right behind the ball (the ground does not move the ball that no one, so that neither the head). In a good idea is to have a shorter back swing. A long back swing is difficult to control, and you can get the same distance in a short since we are more soundly loses. With regard to the coverage and hit the ground before the ball is aware of the ball somewhere in his position, if you are too far ahead is more likely in the beginning because his swing is on the bias. Try hitting balls 10-20 from the field, where the majority of the group was finished, move the ball in their attitude, if you hit the ground, move it forward. Are you up most of the hits the ball.

Another point, the standard golf swing transfer of weight to keep his feet backwards, and then go back to the foot. It is a new type of swing that is used on tour these days. This new swings, called "Stack and Tilt" swing maintaining a majority of all the weight on the foot of lead. This leads to less body movement. Although there is much less power, in theory, this should lead to the right shots.

At the same time, is one of the least discussed, but most important elements are in full balance. It is not only a balanced swing nice to see, it is important to good ball striking. Good balance starts from scratch. The weight should be evenly distributed on the balls of your feet on the address, bend your knees slightly and the upper body bent from the hips. That position athletics sound is the key to a "balance of the swing".

Finally, the type of club you use will determine whether the ball is with regard to their feet. If you are a driver hit, the ball should be halfway between your foot and lead the midpoint between their feet. Each club should result in shorter to the ball is closer to your back foot, with a sand wedge that requires that the ball is positioned slightly behind the midpoint of their feet.

In conclusion, the most important key to a good down wing is the coordination of the hands, shoulders and hips. Its low turnover should involve the parties in that order. Remember, keep your head and left arm straight. Also, make sure your turn, your wrists over each other to get the club face back to the point of contact when it does. Hope you enjoyed this golf swing tip.

Perfect Golf Swing

There is a set of rules to follow when trying to build a perfect golf swing. But how can we separate the good advice from the bad advice? This article tries to discuss on it.

Every golf swing is different. You can't say that Tiger Woods, Jim Furyk, and Ernie Els have similar swings. They have different results as far as trajectory, direction, spin, etc. and they are all based on physical limitations and repeatable movements. Good golfers have a pre shot routine so they know that they are lined up correctly every time and that they are in position to hit the necessary shot. Without being sure of this you could be hitting great shots and think that you are pushing or pulling the ball because they are not on target.

The fundamentals as far as how to grip it and where to position your body in different parts of a swing are good on a case by case basis but no swing tip is universal. Take advice from someone who knows and studies the golf swing. Don't take advice from someone who reads a Golf Digest article and thinks that any given tip can be a Cure-all for your swing.

Every swing mechanic, position and alignment you've ever heard has the goal of helping you attain the correct alignments at impact. Obviously, impact alignments are the most important alignments in golf, even though impact lasts only a fraction of a second. So, what are the proper impact alignments? First, your head should be slightly behind the ball and on the same level as it was at address. Your spine angle and the shaft of the club also should have returned to the same plane angle as during your setup. Your hands should be very close to your right thigh.

Your right arm should be straight, with your right elbow in line with the right hip. Your weight should be at least 75 percent on the left side, with your right heel off the ground. Your shoulders should be slightly open, and your hips should have rotated open, toward the target. Your left wrist should be flat, and your right wrist should be bent. This is critical, as the left wrist cannot be flat unless the right wrist is bent.

This simple alignment cures casting, over acceleration, loss of power and the club head passing the hands prior to impact. At impact, you also should be able to draw a straight line connecting your left shoulder left arm, left wrist, the shaft of the club and the ball. One last point concerning impact. It's been said that if your club head is moving at 100 miles per hour, it will move less than an inch during this very brief period in your swing. However, if you arrive at impact in the correct position, you can be sure to make that critical inch count.

As conclusion, there are a lot of guidance how to get perfect golf swing. By such, a player must learn to get perfect golf swing from accredited coach by doing own research.

Amazing Golf Mind Tricks For Lower Scores

Tiger Woods is living proof that golf is a mind game.

What is his secret? He's not telling but no doubt his mind has been meticulously carved and conditioned to excel like he does as the worlds number one athlete.

No matter what kind of pressure a situation represents for him he cruises to victory with a display of skill and confidence that is awesome to all those who watch him play.

Maybe the following mind conditioning tips are not what Tiger is using but perhaps they are right on. Whatever, if you are a golfer that plays in the nineties or more you can develop a mind game of your own and reduce your score by as much as fifteen or twenty strokes. You may ask “Are you kidding? No,” Try it for yourself and watch your errors diminish and your scores go lower than you ever played before.

There are two minds to deal with. A conscious mind and a sub-conscious mind...

The conscious mind is used for reasoning.

The conscious mind is the part of your mind that is responsible for logic and reasoning, When you decide to take any voluntary action like moving your hand or leg, this is done by you conscious mind. So whenever you are aware of the thing that you want to do, you do it with your conscious mind.

The subconscious mind is automatic. It acts on predetermined images.

The subconscious mind is the part of your mind responsible for all of your involuntary
Actions like experiencing emotions, controlling your heart beat or breathing rate.
Your subconscious mind is also a store for your beliefs and memories. It works like a computer, what comes out is what you have programmed in previously.

When you figure out how the sub-conscious works you will realize why in the past you never accomplished the things you believed you were capable of. A confused sub-conscious mind will defeat you every time.

Here are some examples of how the sub-conscious mind can be your enemy instead of your friend.

Before you take your driver you note there is a water hazard in the fairway and you make sure that you are going to stay clear of it, not so your sub-conscious mind has an image of water and more often than not you'll manage to flub your shot into the drink.

You're standing over a putt of two feet and you make sure you are not going to miss it but your sub-conscious mind has an image of a miss and only understands that it is the desired result so it will make you shake a little bit or rush your shot to arrive at the desired result.

The subconscious mind doesn't think or reason it simply acts on the information you put into it.

Since it cannot reason it doesn't understand words either. It only acts on images. It must have a picture. Give it a picture of water and that's where you will end up, give it a picture of sand and you'll find the bunker. These are negative images but the sub-conscious mind also works on positive images and that is where Tiger Woods finds his strength.

How to get the sub-conscious mind to work for you

Now that you know how the sub-conscious mind works what do you have to do to cut a dozen or more strokes off your golf game.

The subconscious mind has first to get the picture.

Without an image the subconscious mind will be confused. A confused mind has serious consequences and can easily ruin your day on the links.

The Windmill Stance

People mistakenly try to help you by advising you to turn your shoulders for more power.

Woe to those who concentrate on turning the shoulders, their game will collapse and scores mushroom. Concentrating on mechanics of any sort will defeat you. The only thing you should be thinking about is the image of the result you want and the proper image of obtaining it. With the proper images in mind the shoulders and other elements will automatically follow suit.

What kind of image does your sub conscious have when you set up to prepare your shot?

Answer, a blank, a distorted image of what has to be accomplished. It cannot provide the consistency needed for a good golf score.

This is why when you swing your club you sometimes sway to your right side or you lunge towards the target and fluff your shots. There is no sub conscious mental control; you are really out to sea. There is no sub conscious discipline.

The set up position does not prepare you mentally for the perfect shot.

The perfect shot is performed when you automatically resist all unnecessary movement of the legs, hips and head. The sub conscious must have the right picture to accomplish the desired result.

The imprint you need to create in your mind is that of a windmill. By nicknaming your new set up “the windmill stance” your sub conscious mind will have the picture it needs to help you perform the perfect swing.

Imagine you are a windmill, nothing moves but the propellers. Along with the propellers only the movable parts follow the arc. The propellers are your arms; the movable parts are your hips, waist and shoulders. They rotate but do not tilt. Everything else such as your feet and legs are anchored to the ground until after the takeoff. The set up position or rather the windmill position is the solution to fixing all your bad shots.

When you prepare to address your every shot no matter what club you are using think windmill and you will soon realize what a great tip this is. Do this and you will hit shots longer, cleaner and with unbelievable accuracy getting to the greens faster and lowering your scores accordingly.

This is the most important element all golfers have to concentrate on to fix a problem, no exceptions.

When you swing the club you must be anchored to the ground like a windmill with no lateral movement either way from the start of the swing to the very last moment. Only after the club head strikes the ball and follows through does the body turn to finish the shot.

Stop using a putter on the greens

What image does a putter represent to the subconscious mind? A putter is an instrument that lacks a picture of what it should accomplish. The subconscious mind cannot do anything with a putter so the task resorts back to the conscious mind which requires conscious effort and usually results in a miscue. To be successful the subconscious mind requires a clear image of the precise result intended. It must be like a computer program. The subconscious mind cannot reason or define what is right or wrong, it does what the picture suggests.

You may want to read the foregoing paragraph over and over again to make sure you understand the reasons for the dramatic changes you must make in order to play the mind game and become the golfer you would only see in your dreams.

Get the picture right

Stop calling your putter a putter. Give it a nickname that the subconscious mind can relate to.

Exactly what do you want the instrument to do? Of course you want it to push the ball towards the hole and sink it. There you have it then. You will nickname your putter the hole finder. The subconscious mind will know exactly what is intended because it has an image of the desired result.

From this moment on you are going to use your hole-finder on the green and this is how you are going to sink more putts than you ever dreamed possible.

Take your windmill stance over the ball and position your feet comfortably.

Stay perfectly still, nothing moves not the legs not the hips not the waist and not the wrists.

A perfect putt requires only the movement of the arms in a pendulum motion like a windmill.

Take a couple of practise shots with your hole-finder

See the image of the ball dropping into the hole and hear the sound as it plops to the bottom of the cup.

Take your shot and let your sub-conscious mind do the rest.

*********************************************************

What does the driver mean to the sub-conscious mind?

What image does a driver represent to the subconscious mind? A driver is an instrument that lacks a picture of what should be accomplished. The subconscious mind cannot do anything with a driver so the task resorts back to the conscious mind which requires conscious effort and usually results in a bad drive with little power.

To be successful the subconscious mind requires a clear image of the precise result intended. It must be like a computer program. The subconscious mind cannot reason or define what is right or wrong, it does what the picture suggests.

Change your driver's name.

Your sub-conscious mind sees a picture of you behind the wheel of your car when you're driving or sitting on a lawnmower it really cannot act automatically when you use a driver because you are playing golf and the picture is confusing. Maybe that is why your fairway drives are not too straight or long. What if you change the name?

You want to have long straight missile shots down the fairway.

So why don't you rename the driver the “fairway guided missile launcher”. It's a long name but an effective one. No confusion there for your sub-conscious mind. The image is a clear indication of the result you want to accomplish.

The sub-conscious mind is a very effective aid when the results are predetermined.

This is how the mind game works.

Launching the ball off the tee

Take a comfortable windmill stance and see the image of what your fairway guided missile launcher is capable of.

Just look at your target, swing the club and hit the ball.

You don't have to think of anything the fairway guided missile launcher is by design the only blueprint you will need to hit the best drives of your lifetime. The image is there and the desired results will follow.

The best advice you will ever have to improve your golf is the windmill stance tip. Develop this picture in your mind until it is indelibly imprinted sub consciously. This is when good things will happen even under pressure or when you cannot think straight.

The image of your driver becoming a “fairway guided missile launcher” along with the windmill stance are pictures that the sub conscious mind understands and consequently provides consistency that will amaze you. So work at it and give your new attitude a chance to succeed.

Finally, the windmill stance and the hole finder are the keys to successful holing, forget the word putting.

Good golfing, enjoy your new found strategies for years to come.

Golf with Little Effort

I'm going to show you that playing golf with little effort, is not only the way to get the most fun out of golf, but also the best way of getting results. None of us here are pros, or even low handicappers, they'll all be reading something else, you're more likely be in the other 80% of golfers that only play once a week or less and struggle to get your handicap into single figures or maybe even just break 100.

If that is the case then you are probably going about things the wrong way by trying to emulate the tournament pros. They're in a different league from us and play a different game, they practice daily and have coaches for every facet of their game, they also know the basics so well that it is second nature to them. When the pros struggle it's with the little tweaks they are using to get that extra optimization out of their performance.

Trying to hit the ball the maximum distance might be great to get rid of some pent up frustration, but it's the wrong thing entirely to produce an accurate shot. Before you try to optimize your swing for distance, you really should try to optimize it for accuracy and predictability first. The most overlooked fault in golf is using way too much effort.

If you are always trying to hit the golf ball as if it was fired from a canon, then you are using far too much energy, your accuracy will be off and your distance for any given club will be erratic with a good chance of producing a slice or a hook.

The pros didn't start off with the swing they use today, they've put a lot of effort and optimization into their swing over a long period of time. First they had the basics, a solid foundation and a solid swing to build on, they had all the basics working and ingrained in their muscle memory before they built it up to the swing they have today. It's these same basic principles that we have to concentrate on first and the most important of them is to get rid of all the variable bits of the swing that can cause problems.

The longer the back swing the more room there is for your swing to be on the wrong plane and the easier it is for you to go out of balance, it's less troublesome to use a short back swing. Using a full back swing would come into the optimizing stage, you will find it more beneficial at this stage to have a full follow through rather than a full back swing.

Speed is another thing that is used wrongly and is better kept for the optimization stage. It is not how fast you can swing that produces power, but how fast the club head passes through the impact zone. There is a great tendency for high handicappers to swing too quickly, both the back swing and the forward swing. This is really important, there is no need for any great speed and the faster you swing the more your timing and balance will be negatively affected.

Finally, hitting the golf ball hard to produce more power is never a good golf shot, golf is a more subtle game than that. You will achieve a greater distance with more accuracy by getting the club to impact the ball correctly on the right plane than you will by trying to hit it hard, club head speed produces power and is something that can best be worked on once the basics are mastered.

Next time you're on the course, try finesse and elegance instead of brute force and you'll have better results and more fun.

My own golf site is young and still growing, but it has some information, some quirky and some of a more conventional nature, but it still has a long way to go with more being added as time permits, most of all it is supposed to be fun. I hope you enjoy it.

Putting Tips

There are a lot of things to worry about when you are putting. First you have to read the green, this is the toughest part in putting. Before you go out for a round you should have used the putting greens, which you can tell weather the greens are fast or slower. This will also help you see how much break there will be. Reading grain is very difficult. If you are shooting with the grain then the ball will move faster and against it vice versa. Then look at the slope of the green, remember the slower you put the more the break on the green, unless the green is flat.

You should aim about a foot past the hole just in case you hit it too short, you can make it or be closer to the cup. Next is speed, your follow through should be longer than your backswing. Also your putter should be going straight back and straight forward to ensure your ball goes straighter. The distance of the ball will depend on you acceleration of the club on your follow through. After you master these three things you should be one putting almost every hole. This will lower your score dramatically, but it takes a lot of practice and concentration. At home practice by putting 5-10 balls into a cup about 100 times a day. Hope this tip was helpful and keep enjoying and playing the game the way its supposed to.

Using Your Brain For A Change...the Art Or Learning

If you're serious about getting the most out of yourself, your game, and any lessons you take I encourage you to finish this article to get a clear understanding of your innate learning style.

What do I mean by learning styles? You have your own way of learning that is decidedly different than mine. I understand this and am skilled at tapping your individual style so that you can learn in a way that supports
you. Not my teaching
style. Does this make sense? The problem is with the “one size fits all” approach that so many golf instructors and mental game coaches use. They are attempting to have their students/clients conform to their teaching style!

This leads to all kinds of needless issues for you in your skill development. Have you noticed this is what the traditional education system does as well? It's called rote learning. Their position is: “We spoon feed you the pabulum WE know is right for you. And it is YOUR responsibility to figure out how to swallow it!”

I am as serious as a heart attack with this. Yet as you know if you've purchased the mental game system already, I don't simply raise a pile of questions and leave you hanging. You'll have practical tools to make the changes you need. Not what I want you to need!

Technical and Natural Learning Styles

Ok, there are two fundamental approaches to learning. Technical and Natural. These terms aren't carved in stone so don't get attached to the labels. It's the learning we're after. The technical learner prefers to use the left brain approach. Enjoys the “how” questions and all the nuances of learning. They do best with specific things to think about along the way and put in their game. This without question is the predominant approach of the modern golf world. Training aids, 1000's of technical “tips” for your game.

The Natural approach is more right brained, creative. These people prefer to get a “sense” of what they're learning. Without being encumbered by any technical details. These people would destroy their chances of playing well if they went to David Leadbetter. You must take the time to ask yourself which approach truly resonates with you. Don't allow yourself to buy into the golf establishment that incessantly promotes the technical side of learning. It is killing the games of half the golfing public!

Neither approach is inherently better than the other. Yet one is far worse than the other to you if you're on the wrong path! Each has their benefit to people and the natural learner can of course benefit from some technical teaching. Yet not at the expense of their need for simple pictures and kinesthetic experience of what they are learning. And the technical players perform at a far higher level when they learn to “let go” of their conscious mind with all its details on the swing and simply “play” golf. Not “think” golf swing.

Know Your Style and Follow It!

I am not overstating this. If Lee Trevino attempted to follow Ben Hogan and try to use the techniques he promotes Lee would have had a career as a caddy, not the sensational player he was. So please do yourself a life changing favor and determine which approach suits you the best and follow this. There are golf instructors out there that understand this. Yet usually it's the ones who have been around a long time.

In terms of
mental game training
I teach both ways. I can literally guarantee your learning will accelerate after applying the strategies in my system. And every golf lesson you ever have will have more power to you. Your ability to integrate what you're learning will increase. You'll make your instructor look like a genius! But it's all because you took the time to find a teacher who can instruct the way YOU need to learn, not how THEY want to teach.

This is a very powerful distinction, wouldn't you agree?
