2008/2009 English League Predictions and Betting

‘Liverpool do lead the pack, marginally’

The Premier League has been given a good old shuffle this year, something that’s needed for a few years now. Aston Villa and surprisingly Hull City have challenged the top four in the first half of the season and Villa in particular look set to remain locked in that battle right to the end of the campaign. Liverpool do lead the pack, marginally, but with home slip ups to both Stoke City and Hull City already I can’t see there being enough power in their charge to win it. Manchester United and Chelsea have made uncharacteristic stuttering starts but they are both still in the mix, both possess the experience of winning a long title campaign and both have superior strength in depth. The title will still be determined between these two sides and I believe the scales will just tilt in the direction of Old Trafford. Big Phil Scolari has not been able to maintain the fortress status of Stamford Bridge and I think this will cost them the domestic crown.

- 2008/2009 Premier League Champions – Manchester United. Odds for the title = 47/25

‘Experience shows in this division that early consistent front runners go on to win the title’

The Championship has thus far seen three sides take the front running, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Birmingham City and Reading. Wolves have been awesome so far this year and whenever the inevitable slip up in this division arises they have gone on to win the next two, three or four games. This is what successful teams in the Championship need to do and in particular Champions. Birmingham and Reading both have a quality squad of players at their disposal for this level of football and will both feel it imperative to be back in the top flight next season but the way Wolves have started and continued does look as though they’ll be battling each other for that second automatic spot. Experience shows in this division that early consistent front runners go on to win the title by a handsome margin and thus far Wolves are showing these credentials. I cannot see past them for the crown and hope all three go up as these clubs are by far best asserted to give the Premiership a good crack next year.

- Championship Champions 2008/2009 – Wolverhampton Wanderers. Odds for the title = 69/50

‘their class in squad completely outshines the rest’

League One has been a tough division to get a good run of results together so far for many sides but there have been a handful of teams making an impression that they’ll be challenging for honours come May. Leicester City, Scunthorpe United, Millwall, Oldham Athletic, Peterborough United and MK Dons are in that handful of teams. Three of these six teams will more than likely be going up with the possibility of a late charge from teams such as Leeds United their only threat. From the six contenders I really feel Leicester will be too strong. It’s there first stay in this division and they want out of it as soon as possible and to go up as Champions will make the bitter pill of being in League One that little sweeter. Too much strength in depth for this level, their class in squad completely outshines the rest.

- League One Champions 2008/2009 – Leicester City. Odds for the title = 69/50

‘a few surprises will be sprung over the next 6 months’

League Two has been another tight and interesting division in the run up to Christmas. It’s another small handful of teams that have made the initial impression of becoming promotion candidates and there’s not much between any of them. Wycombe Wanderers have been highly impressive thus far and lead the pack at this stage. Bury, Shrewsbury Town and Dagenham & Redbridge have all had stints at the top of the League too. There are one or two other sides in League Two that will be challenging and a few surprises will be sprung over the next 6 months but I think top spot will be contested between Wycombe and Shrewsbury with Paul Simpson’s Shrewsbury piping Wycombe to the title. This one is the toughest to predict and I think it will be the closest run title of the lot but Shrewsbury have shown signs of quality and have really hammered a couple of teams this year already, one being Wycombe.

League Two Champions 2008/2009 – Shrewsbury Town. Odds for the title = 5/1

These odds were taken on 17/12/08 and are the best price around so realistically if you do chose to take this bet up as a four way accumulator then you’re looking at odds around 75/1.

That has got to be worth a few quid surely? I know I’ll be placing at least a fiver on it! – Stay lucky!

The 2009 NFL season has been one of the most unpredictable ones to date. Who would have thought teams such as the Bears, Falcons, Dolphins, Ravens, and Broncos would be in position to make the playoffs. Things are crazier than ever, and the NFL standings as we knew going into the season, have totally crumbled. It seems like so much has changed since last season. Who knows how unpredictable the playoffs might be? Here is my best shot who is going to win it all, and who they are going to go through on their way there.

AFC

1. Tennessee Titans 14-2 (Upset by hot Colts)

2. Pittsburgh Steelers 11-5 (I hate this team....but oh well)

3. New York Jets 11-5 (Not the best team in football like some say, but good still)

4. Denver Broncos 9-7 (sad, sad division)

5. Indianapolis Colts 12-4 (upset Titans and go undefeated rest of season)

6. New England Patriots 10-6 (May be higher, I have them down as losing to the Cardinals)

Sorry Ravens, and good luck with that schedule...

NFC

1. New York Giants 15-1 (A shout out to the Browns)

2. Tampa Bay Bucaneers 12-4 (all comes down to the game with the Panthers)

3. Minnesota Vikings 10-6 (Game with Cardinals key in determining spot)

4. Arizona Cardinals 10-6 (I think they are overrated as heck and lose to the Vikings)

5. Dallas Cowboys 10-6 (brutal schedule coming up, need to go 2-2)

6. Carolina Panthers 10-6 (sneak into the playoffs)

Playoffs

AFC

Jets vs. Patriots-Pats win

Broncos vs. Colts-Colts manhandle the Broncos

Patriots vs. Titans-Titans win

Steelers vs. Colts-Colts win again

Titans vs. Colts-Colts pull the second upset against the Titans

NFC

Vikings vs. Panthers-Panthers upset Vikings

Cardinals vs. Cowboys-Cowboys win easily

Giants vs. Panthers-Giants win

Bucs vs. Cowboys-Cowboys win

Giants vs. Cowboys-Giants

Giants vs. Colts-Eli wins the battle of the Manning brothers on the greatest stage

Yes I did in fact research the teams and watch football. This is unbiased, as I am a die hard Browns fan. Hope you enjoyed it.

NFL Predictions Week 10

Denver Broncos Vs Cleveland Browns

This will be a game won through the air as both times rely heavily on their passing attacks to win ball games for them. Brady Quinn will make his first NFL start come Sunday. Going up against the Broncos won't be an easy task for them to accomplish seeing that the Broncos already have established their offense and should have no problem moving the football down the field. I believe Quinn will have a decent showing however I don't believe he will be able to keep up with Cutler and due to the Browns not being all that terrific on defense I don't see them backing him up is really what I mean. But perhaps they will rally around the young quarterback that is yet to be seen we will see Sunday however I would have to go with experience on this one. Broncos 24-17

New Orleans Saints Vs Atlanta Falcons

Matt Ryan has been playing outstandingly this year, but so has Drew Brees who leads the league in passing even after having last week off. Despite the wonderful play out of both quarterbacks I don't think this game is in their hands. I believe this game is in the hands of the running backs which will help their quarterback out and take pressure off the passing game with big plays on the ground I would have to say Michael turner looks like the best choice but with a week off perhaps the Saints will establish their run coming off of the bye. Overall I believe the Falcons have the better defense as well with John Abraham second in the league with 10 sacks on the year. Because of the Falcons defensive play and Turner the burner and the fact that Ryan will help lead his team to a win and not put pressure on the other guys I believe that the saints maybe in a little bit of trouble going into this game. 28-24 Saints

Tennessee Titans Vs Chicago Bears

The Titans have played at their best each week and even being undefeated they have went into each week the same. Understanding they can be beat so they want to do whatever they can not to. I'm amazed announcers are bringing up the speculation of a possible repeat of an undefeated season in the NFL. But on the other hand with half the season to go I believe it's too early to talk about this even though they didn't waste any time last year. The Titians play well on both sides of the ball running the ball well and Kerry Collins has kept them in the best of situations on downs. Their defense is relentless so I believe that the Bears are not going to be able to compete for four quarters. They will likely have Rex Grossman under center who was able to come back against the Detroit Lions but let's be honest he was 9/19 and against the Titans that won't get it done which is a much better team. The Bears have good defense to but with their offense likely to keep them on the field they will break eventually and the Bears do allow teams to pass all over them which won't be a problem for the Titians because the bears will most likely have eight guys in the box to defend the run.

Jacksonville Jaguars Vs Detroit Lions

Well the Jacksonville Jaguars have lost some games this year I felt they should have won they really haven't been themselves. Despite that the Detroit Lions just aren't able to get it done, they will be vulnerable for the run this week and the Jaguars will have no problem opening the game up with a few runs to eventually stretch the field with their passing game. Jaguars 17-10

Baltimore Ravens Vs Houston Texans

The Texans are likely to go into this game with the same sort of scheme on defense as they had against the Minnesota Vikings which means they will attempt to put a lot of defenders in the box leaving them vulnerable for the pass. The Ravens having saw last week's game will attack Reeves the Texans left corner multiple times just as the Vikings did so the game will be in his palms to either make big plays or give up big plays. Ravens will win this (he will give up big plays) he is a good db but he is a bit aggressive after a few runs he gets to nosy on what's going on in the back field. 21-7 Ravens

Seattle Seahawks Vs Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins are a much better and different team from last year they are actually winning games. The Seahawks aren't too much different from recent years only they've had a lot of injuries however they were still the type of team to win the division at 9-7 however don't expect them to do that this year. The dolphins should have no problem mixing it up the Seahawks giving them a various amount of looks in various formations. Bound to sneak the wild cat formation in and getting big plays out of it. 28-14 dolphins

Green Bay Packers Vs Minnesota Vikings

The last two games the Vikings seem to be offensively sound despite a loss to the Chicago bears the Vikings have been able to put up big numbers and do it fast. The defense has also stepped it up getting to the quarterback more sense the week one game against the Packers. This is a different team from week 1, in which I don't believe the same can be said for the Packers they are still vulnerable on the ground ranking 27th in the league. So I believe they will attempt the eight and possibly sometimes nine guys in the box scheme every other team in the league has tried and sense the Vikings have improved their passing offense the Packers will get torched forcing them to get out of the stacked box in which is about the time Adrian Peterson will run all over them. This game is set up for the Vikings to do some big and wonderful things. I expect them to get to the quarterback a lot in the game and score big. 42-0 Vikings

Buffalo Bills Vs New England Patriots

The Bills have lost to the Jets and the Dolphins they were on a row until they started to play divisional games. I don't think this game will be much different the Patriots should be sound on defense and Moss should be back to a hundred yard game, perhaps better he hasn't went into the 200's in a wild so I believe Moss is due for a big game now he just has to go out and perform. Though Brady has been out the Patriots still have the number one player in the league in Randy Moss. Moss has to believe and get his team back on track five more games in they will be back in the playoffs and there anything is possible 30-12 Patriots get win number 6.

St Louis Rams Vs New York Jets

The Rams have been able to establish something on offense however this week they will go against another tough defense and verse tough defenses the Rams have crawled up in a corner and died. I don't believe that Brett Farve will have a problem this week he is mostly likely going have a similar game to the Cardinals game he had. Throwing a lot of touchdowns with Farve it is sort of a pattern you don't worry about the interceptions because they are followed by touchdowns soon after. 42-20 Jets

Carolina Panthers Vs Oakland Raiders

The Raiders have young stars on their team who are going to be very nice players in the NFL however this year maybe a learning experience for them mostly. The Panthers definitely have the better team being better on offense and defense. They are likely to attack at the line of scrimmage win the battle and never look back 27-7 Panthers.

Indianapolis Colts Vs Pittsburg Steelers

This game is going to be close due to the fact that both coaches know how to prepare their team for a game however the Steelers are bullies win or loss in any game they are leave the team wishing and hoping they never play or ever play again. This game will be no different though I don't think the Colts are scared they are professionals so they will come to play however I expect Peyton Manning to get sacked more times they he probably ever has in his career the pressure will be heavy but they will mix it up hopefully you might get to Manning a few times but continue blitzing and he's going to beat you deep. The Steelers will have to get 7's and not settle for too many 3's or they will be in a world of trouble come the fourth quarter. 20-10 Steelers

Kansas City Chiefs Vs San Diego Chargers

The Chiefs are showing sounds of being a great defensive team in the near future just not on Sunday. The Chargers are having a down season but I expect them to pick things up this week and L.T. will have a nice day on the ground which will only help his teams passing attack. The Chiefs just don't have enough fire power to hang with the Chargers in this game. 35-14 Chargers

New York Giants Vs Philadelphia Eagles

The Giants have been playing well getting out of sticky situations and capitalizing on other teams mistakes. Their running unit has been great as well the best so far in the league. Eli Manning has more confidence in his abilities more than ever. The Eagles play great defense as well and will have success in this game just as much as the Giants if not better. The difference this week though I believe is the quarterback play I don't believe Donovan McNabb will have too many mistakes. I expect him to take care of the ball rather well and cease the opportunity at hand. With the Dallas Cowboys on the downhill it is only leave room for another team to step up into the spot light. So I believe the Eagles will win this game in an upset 27-14.

San Francisco 49ers Vs Arizona Cardinals

This should be interesting as teams in this division that being the NFC West seems to trade wins and losses verse each other. On paper the Cardinals are the better team and should come out with the victory however anything can happen. But I will go with the Cardinals by a two score margin.

NFL Predictions: Week 9

Last Week 7-7Overall record 69-47

New York Jets Vs Buffalo Bills

Last Week the Jets were able to overcome Brett Farve throwing 3 interceptions which definitely shows how well their defense has played throughout the year. The difference between the two teams is the Jets are more offensively sound with Favre having 15 passing touchdowns compared to Trent Edwards 5 As well the Jets have a slightly better rushing attack. The way the Buffalo Bills have been getting it done though is through their special teams unit and seem to be hopeless without a strong performance from their special teams. In games that their special teams have produced touchdowns they have come out victorious however against the Jets it maybe a little hard to do so for a couple of reasons. Reason one being that the Jets may not be so reluctant to kick the ball to the bills in certain situations, and reason two being the Jets have a pretty nice cover group on special teams. I believe this game will come down to whether or not the quarterbacks can remain faultless by that I mean no interceptions the QB that does so will lead his team to victory. Believing Brett Favre will put his team in the best situations to win and having a running game to help him the Jets should pull off this close game. 35-28 Jets

Detroit Lions Vs Chicago Bears

Kyle Orton has performed outstanding considering what he was expected to do. He has lead the Chicago bears to a decent start and has the opportunity to get them back into the playoffs if he can keep it up. The big question is, does Orton have what it takes to keep it up for eight more games in the past Chicago Bears Quarter back's have had great beginnings and then have fallen under the pressure late in the season now facing a 0-7 Lions team the Bears can't get to anxious thinking it's won before it's done or that could lead them into trouble. I believe Calvin Johnson will have a big day against the Bears however will it be enough? I don't think this game will be as much of a blow out as the week 5 34-7 blowout the bears put on the Lions however I don't see the Lions getting into the win column anytime soon. But due to the fact the Lions are hungry and were able to score more points and stay in games better without John Kitna I believe this will be an upset game so I will have to go with the lions. 14-10

Jacksonville Jaguars Vs Cincinnati Bengals

The jaguars will attempt to get the run game going against the Bengals 27th ranked rush defense shouldn't be much of a problem really. David Garrard has thrown 151 passes without throwing an interception in which I believe it will be much different in this game though the Bengals offense hasn't been much of a competitor so I don't think it will matter at all. The running game should be there for the Jaguars in which will keep Garrard from making mistakes in its self though I believe he might throw one in this game because of that he will be closer than it should 24-15 Jaguars.

Baltimore Ravens Vs Cleveland Browns

The Browns are undefeated with coach Romeo Crennel when they score 30 or more however that has only happened six times and I highly doubt going against a stout defense like the Ravens have will be seeing seven this week. The Ravens force turnovers and I believe that will be the key to their victory this week. The Browns are near the bottom of every offensive category while the Ravens are near the top of every defensive category so based off of statistics the Ravens should have this one 21-10.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Vs Kansas City Chiefs

The best thing about the Buccaneers has to be their rushing attack both Earnest Graham and Warrick Dunn are at a pace that could put them both over the 1000 yard mark both just under 500 yards respectively. Jeff Garcia is also putting his team in situations they can win best in with his accurate passing and scrambling abilities. The Chiefs had a decent showing last week however fell short to the New York Jets, which is a lot like the games they have played all year. In my opinion the Chiefs doesn't have a winning formula due to injuries and the youth of their players it's going to be a long year and a busy off season. 28-12 Buccaneers

Houston Texans Vs Minnesota Vikings

The Texans won't run the ball much and will most likely try to create some mismatches with their passing game. The Vikings have the number 2 ranked rush defense while their passing defense is ranked 20th. The Texans aren't too far up though at 16 while their rush defense Ranks 21 averaging 119 yards a game. The key for success for the Vikings is blitzing the QB in the Texans four losses they have given up on average 3.5 sacks a game as forcing qb Matt Schaub to throw at least one interception. I expect the Vikings to bring heavy pressure throughout the game and for Antinio Winfield to be guarding Andre Johnson, Winfield has been having a Pro Bowl caliber season so I believe he will be able to hold 6th year veteran in check. Adrian Peterson will have to have a big day and help open up the pass for his team and if the Vikings can hold on to the football they can put up big numbers against a team that has given up on Avg 26.4 points a game which is 26th in the league. I will have to go with the Vikings coming off the bye they should be rather efficient on offense after the bye week while Brad Childress has been the Coach the Vikings are undefeated sitting at 2-0 looking to make this game 3-0 in which I believe they will having a slow start the Vikings didn't receive much time off during their bye week. 42-7 Vikings

Arizona Cardinals Vs St. Louis Rams

This game may turn out to be a rather confusing one, confusing because after the game you may still not get a clear vision on who will actually pull this division out the rams could pull it off or the cardinals or the Seahawks and who knows the 49ers could get things together and pull it out you just never know when it comes to the NFC West. The Cardinals are better offensively and defensively but in this division that means nothing. Both teams understand they have the opportunity available still so this should be one of the closer and more exciting games this week. 17-10 Cardinals

Green Bay Packers Vs Tennessee Titians

The Green Bay Packers are in a tough part of their season they face the undefeated Titians this week and then the Vikings next week both games are on the road in which for any team usually spells out trouble. The Titians have been dominant in all areas on the field with their young star Vince Young starring on from the sidelines. Kerry Collins has put his team in winning situations and I don't think this game will be any different. The Titians have been in this situation before (being on top) and came up short their last Super Bowl appearance they know from experience it isn't over till it's over so I expect them to come out swinging hard as if they were in need of a win. It's been a while sense they have been on top so I doubt they have forgotten what it means to be struggling in the latter end of the season so I expect them to continue putting blows on teams to hopefully clinch the number spot for the playoffs. They have been exciting to watch on offense as well as the LenDale White and Chris Johnson show has featured touchdown after touchdown this season. 28-17 Titians

Miami Dolphins Vs Denver Broncos

The Denver broncos are poor at defending the run as well this year they have been exploited through the air as well. I believe this game will be a tough one for the Broncos seeing that the Dolphins come into each game this year with surprise attacks it is no doubt that they have been coached much better this year compared to last year. The Broncos will have to keep the ball and put some touchdowns up on the board to have a chance turnovers will only make this game go more in the favor of the Dolphins as they will more than likely be running the ball for majority of the day taking up huge amounts of clock time. 27-13 Dolphins

Dallas Cowboys Vs New York Giants

The Giants had an impressing game last week against the Steelers they were able to get to the opposing quarterback and even force some mistakes that lead to interceptions. This week going up against a banged up Cowboys team I don't think it would be a huge surprise to see the Giants pull of the win the Giants blitz very well while the Cowboys have seemed to have problems picking up the blitz. In order for the Cowboys to get it done come Sunday it will rely on the trenches to perform exceptionally well. They will have to give Brad Johnson time to throw and they will have to decrease the time in which Eli Manning has to throw. The Cowboys are capable of doing so I mean they did it in two out of three games last year however with the Giants being defending champions their confidence is a little high right now. With all that said I will have to pick the Dallas Cowboys however the Giants barely pulled off a game where the opposing team had four turnovers while the Giants had zero. As well the Steelers are a physical team and if Dallas doesn't do anything else this week they will be very physical on defense and Marion Barber is sure to lower the shoulder on a few db's. It will be a close one of course though. 17-10

Atlanta Falcons Vs Oakland Raiders

Both the Falcons and Raiders like to run the football and can do so very well. For the Falcons its M. Turner however for the Raiders it could vary day to day but no matter who is in the ball game each back whether Fargas or McFadden can rush for 100 yards any give Sunday. So the formula will certainly be to run the football and the Quarterbacks will make throws when necessary mostly. The Falcon's have the better defense however getting to the opposing teams quarterbacks more and creating more mistakes leading to interceptions. Both QB's for the two teams are young with Russell being in his second year this is in a way his rookie season to with all the time he missed last year. However I believe that Matt Ryan has the better support system then Russell and that will be the difference in the ball game. 28-20 Falcons

Philadelphia Eagles Vs Seattle Seahawks

Without a doubt this game should be a huge mismatch in favor of the Eagles but because anything can happen come Sunday I will continue. The Seahawks will try to establish the run on offense and they will try to apply huge pressure to the Donavan McNabb. Due to the fact McNabb has evolved into a huge passing threat instead of just making plays with his feet like in the beginning of his career, I believe this will be a problem for the Seahawks. When a team blitzes it usually allows someone or something uncovered and McNabb will likely have no problem recognizing who or what that is and should exploit them. On Defense the Eagles are a handful themselves they are able to get to the quarterback fast and knock him down superbly hard. At best this will be a two score game 35-17 Eagles.

New England Patriots Vs Indianapolis Colts

These teams certainly don't like each other and it can also be said that both teams aren't themselves this season. Well the Patriots are more like themselves playing pretty well on defense and going back to the original fundamentals that allowed them to win championships but they are missing a few key players. The colts are a bit unhealthy themselves even with some of their big name starters on the field they still seem out of sync, not being able to put up the type of number their offense is used to and with injuries on their defensive side of the football cause's big problems for them because they aren't able to stop teams from putting up big numbers on them either. I don't think this game will lose its spunk though the two coaches have bad blood between them the players do as well so this game should perhaps be just as good as the past. This will be a game about defense and clock control which team can force more turnovers and which team can hold on to the football the longest and capitalize with touchdowns. I believe that the Patriots will do this the best as Matt Cassell is getting better throwing the ball and mixing it up and they will have their running game as well. 20-14 Patriots

Pittsburgh Steelers Vs Washington Redskins

The Redskins struggled against the Detroit Lions last week if they plan to win against the Steelers they better come with a different mind and approach. The Steelers play very physical and coming off a lost from the Giants they will look to take it out on the Redskins. Ben Roethlisberger is coming of a poor performance so I don't believe we can expect to see him have a similar result this week as he usually comes back strong after poor games. The Steelers sit at 5-2 and look to get closer to getting back into the playoffs but this won't be an easy match. The Redskins love to run the football and Clinton Portis looks amazing week after week he is currently number one in the NFL and Jason Campbell has been smart and accurate throwing the football. However I expect this game to be close but the Steelers will likely get some sacks or some tipped balls in the air to create some turnovers. 30-20 Steelers

NFL Week Six Perdictions

Last Week 11-3

Overall 49-25

Chicago Bears Vs Atlanta Falcons

Both teams are 3-2 and have running backs that can quickly change the game with one carry and a similar attack on offense. Which is simple don't turn over the ball and complete third downs. Both the Falcons and Bears don't ask their quarterbacks to win games but to manage them and allow the sticks to move so that they can do more running and so that their defense can stay fresh. The advantage would go to the Bears because of their defense they currently ranked 8th while the Falcons are 23rd. Run and Pass wise the Bears are ranked 3rd against the run and 23rd against the pass. While the Falcons are 22nd against the pass and 21st against the run. I believe this plays into what the bears normally face they stop the run so teams pass the 40+ times. The falcons will need to have success running the ball or they are certainly in trouble. The Bears will likely keep a balanced offense sense the Falcons seem to be vulnerable on both sides of the ball. However the most important note for them is ball safety and not turning the ball over. 32-17 Bears

Miami Dolphins Vs Houston Texans

The Dolphins sit at 2-2 while the Texans are 0-4 desperate for a win they will come into this game willing to do and try anything to succeed. The Dolphins are familiar with such cases as they only won one game last season and it took more than four weeks to do so. Therefore I don't think the Dolphins will take this game lightly, they come in with the 7th ranked defense 15th against the pass and 7th against the run. While the Texans are 18th overall 12th against the pass and 26th against the run which could be a problem heading into this week. I believe that the Dolphins has what it takes and will get it done this week against the Texans however the wildcat formation won't have much success this week though they still will have a 100 yard performance on the ground. 24-14 Dolphins

Baltimore Ravens Vs Indianapolis Colts

The Ravens have the number 1 defense 1st in both the Pass and the Run. While the Colts have struggled on Defense and have been slow on offense. This will be a test of the Colts will this week can they perform up to the caliber they are used to playing on? Or did the Super Bowl win feed the hunger of their team. They are certainly a veteran team and some players are satisfied with winning one championship that's certainly how they have been playing as if they are just padding the stats to increase their chances for Hall of Fame induction and they definitely have a few players on their way. This game I believe the Colts go in it with something to prove however seeing how they played against the Texans last week and the Jaguars and Vikings earlier in the season I don't think they will prove it but every time I pick the Ravens they loose and when I don't they win. So umm 17-9 Colts but you know. Lol Game could go either way ravens all the way 17-9

Detroit Lions Vs Minnesota Vikings

The Lions are 0-4 while the Vikings sit at 2-3 and look to go .500 this week. They face a Lions team that has struggled on both sides of the football, though when going against the Lions no team can believe it's a guaranteed victory due to the fact the Lions and Pass the ball well if they have time. I don't expect them to have time this week, I expect heavy pressure in John Kitna's face the Lions have given up the most sacks every season the last two seasons and have giving up the most so far this year. So the philosophy is rather simple blitz them, in which the Vikings don't have to go outside of their defensive play calling on this one. The Lions also struggle against the run in which I expected Adrian Peterson to have a big game last week he didn't however I certainly don't see him having two slow weeks in a row no matter how good the teams run defense is in which in this case the Lions are 30th giving up 180 yards a game respectively on average. They did have a decent week last week against the bears however they game up over 300 yards passing. In which the Vikings had a slow run week but had a productive day through the air. It has now become stop Adrian Peterson if you can and if you can will just take the passing yards and TD's sense you want to stick 8 and 9 guys in the box. Since the departure of Randy Moss and even then the Vikings are nearly undefeated when having a receiver go over 100 yards and score a touchdown they did that last week against the Saints and this week won't be any different I expect them to hit one of their wide outs deep early and this will open the run back up for the Vikings. 42-0 Vikings

Oakland Raiders Vs New Orleans Saints

The Saints should have another 300+ yard performance through the air and a little more success running the ball the ball as well. The saints showed the ability to play well stopping the run so the formula of success will rely solely on the offense not turning the ball over if they can do this they will have no problem winning the ball game. 28-14 Saints
Cincinnati Bengals Vs New York Jets- Brett Farve had a beautiful game before the bye week and coming off the bye week he should be still in sink after receiving rest and studying a little harder on getting the offense rolling. While the Bengals are hungry for a win they won't get it this week as their defense is still vulnerable against the pass and the run and with Farve likely to go deep early the run will open up keeping their offense balanced. 28-20 Jets

Carolina Panthers Vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Panthers have the better overall offense while the Buccaneers have a better defense in my opinion because good offense always beats good defense I believe that the Panthers will get it done as the Panthers defense is pretty decent. Steve Smith should have a big game against the Buccaneers this week as well. 28-16 Panthers

St Louis Rams Vs Washington Redskins

This is a mismatch game in the Redskins favor now anything can happen come Sunday however the Redskins have shown the ability to be teams that are strong on offense and defense seeing that the Rams lack skill and playmakers on both sides of the ball so I won't go in to much on this pick 35-10 Redskins.

Jacksonville Jaguars Vs Denver Broncos

The Jaguars have struggled putting up points this year and while they have a better defense than the Broncos I think that the Broncos will get back on track with their offense this week and the Jaguars won't be able to keep up with them. Cutler should be over 300 yards this week 28-10 Broncos

Dallas Cowboys Vs Arizona Cardinals

This is going to be a high scoring game something like the jets vs. Cardinals game. Though the Cowboys can be on either side of this if their defense doesn't get their act together and if the Cowboys offense doesn't play at top level. The Cardinals are strong on offense if not stronger than the Cowboys but have major problems on defense 48-35 Cowboys.

Philadelphia Vs San Francisco 49ers

The eagles have played very tough teams the last few weeks and while the 49ers are a decent team not as tough as the other games the Eagles have faced despite the Rams. With or without Brian Westbrook the Eagles will use their passing attack to lead them throughout this game and should get it done putting them back over .500 this week. 31-14 Eagles

Green Bay Packers Vs Seattle Seahawks

The question mostly rely on whether Rodgers can snap out of this loosing funk and whether the Seahawks can snap out of their horrible defensive play. They come off a week of being shut out and their team will face yet another strong opponent well at least stronger than them. 28-7 Packers

New England Patriots Vs San Diego Chargers

This should be a very exciting game as it always is. The Patriots will have to get Randy Moss involved early and often to keep balance in their offense. If they can they should have no problem running the football. Mean while the Chargers will try all they can do to rack up points on the run and through the air. Based on the fact that the Dolphins beat the Chargers and the Patriots I can only look at how it was done which was by the Dolphins running over both teams. Which means to me both the Chargers and Patriots will have a problem covering the run. Should be an exciting game however the Chargers have the 32nd ranked defense against the pass could be bigger problems covering the run with Randy Moss sure to catch a few deep to help open the run even wider. 28-17 Patriots

New York Giants Vs Cleveland Browns

The giants are getting it done on both sides of the ball so this will be another successful week if they continue to control the clock and not turn over the ball in which I don't believe the Browns will force them not to do so therefore I believe the Giants will win yet another game and remain undefeated 30-12 Giants.

NFL Week Three Predictions

Last Week Record 10-5
Overall Record 19-12

Last week Recap: Last week I picked the winning team in 10 of the 15 games the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens game was cancelled. The Five games I lost each team gave up the lead in the fourth and the highest point margin I lost by was four the games I chose wrong on were the Vikings Vs Colts, Chargers Vs Broncos, Bears Vs Panthers and Seahawks Vs Cardinals.

This week:

Kansas City Chiefs Vs Atlanta Falcons

The Chiefs have shown no ablity to get their offense rolling while the Falcons coming off of a loss has pretty distant defense and a game manageable offense Altanta should take this one 28-10 Falcons.

Oakland Raiders Vs Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills have shown some very nice special teams and defense, While the Oakland Raiders seem to have found a running game however Quarterback Jarmarcus Russell has struggled. Buffalo should blow them out if they wish to prove themselves as contenders this year. 31-14 Bills

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Vs Chicago Bears

Tampa Bay is known for good defensive play so is Chicago this will be one of the most exciting games of the week expect the defenses to play hard and slug it out. I believe this one can go either way but I will give the edge to the Chicago bears because their defense gets more take aways. 17-14 Bears

Carolina Panthers Vs Minnesota Vikings

Carolina enters the Metrodome 2-0 the last time they were 3-0 was the last time they made it to the super bowl. Mean while a team who was thought to be Super Bowl contenders are 0-2 and looking to make a huge rebound. In my opinion the Vikings have been beating themselves however with their backs against the wall in there place which is the second loudest stadium in the NFL I expect the Vikings will find the Rhythm they need to move on strong and we will see a similar game to last week only with the Vikings punching the ball into the End Zone replacing last week's three's and the defense playing four quarters of shut out football. This will be a blow out 35-0 Vikings.

Miami Dolphins Vs New England Patriots

The Dolphins have a long way to go before they will be able to battle and win against the leagues best the Patriots should have no problem improving to 3-0 this week. 35-10 Patriots

Cinnanati Bengals Vs New York Giants

The Bengals have struggled to be the offensive powerhouse they are known to be and the defending super bowl champs even without there two starting defensive ends from last year looks to remain sack happy and at high performance. Expect the Giants to apply heavy pressure when the Bengals drop back to pass and expect Eli Manning to pick apart a defense that is always around the bottom of the league in pass defense. 28-10 Giants

Houston Texans Vs Tennessee Titians

The Titians have looked really well with Kerry Collins as the starter while the Texans face a little distraction coming into this game however in most situations when something dracstic happens to a team they rally well in the very next game as if they are winning for their home. So I actually would go with the Titians however I believe due to all the Vince Young talk distracting the Titians from the game and with the Texans to come up amp remember they didn't play last week so they should be fresh. Close one though if I'm right 21-14 Texans

Arizona Cardinals Vs Washington Redskins

The Cardinals come off a win against the Miami Dolphins while the Redskins come off a win against the Saints. While the Cardinals showed a very nice offense I believe that the Redskins offense is more efficient compared against each others defense the Redskins have the edge because of better D so I believe this might be another Saints Vs Redskins type match up the redskins should close it away 35-21 Redskins.

New Orleans Saints Vs Denver Broncos

The Saints have looked good on offense this year but still prove to have problems defending both the run and pass. This Sunday against the Broncos it shouldn't be a problem against the run as the Broncos will come out passing in which will be a huge mismatch. The Chargers have a better Defense and the Redskins have better defense with that said I believe the Broncos have a huge edge in this game and it could get ugly 40-17 Broncos.

Detroit Lions Vs San Francisco 49ers

The Detriot Lions are one of those teams that can win any game they go into because of there high powered offense they can put up 30+ points on any given night. So this game depends on if the Lions can get on the board early however the San Franciso 49ers will mostly control the game with their running attack sense the Lions are last in the league against the run so far this year. So this game could go either way as well however I don't believe that the lions will be on the field to much due to there poor defensive play and Gore should have a 150+ yard day. 34-2849ers.

St Louis Rams Vs Seattle Seahawks

The Rams have been blown out the first two games and honestly it's going to be a long season I expect a similar finish to Miami Dolphins however I'm not sure who they can beat with the way they being performing in the last two games. The seahawks should be able to use this game to bounce back into contention within their division. 30-10 Seahawks.

Cleveland Browns Vs Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens come into this week fresh sense they didn't play last week and though the Browns has a nice offense I don't see them getting them selves together in week 3 on defense. The Ravens should have no problem running the ball on the Browns however Flacco has had a week off and young quarterbacks don't usually perform well in start stop type atmosphere so I am going to go with the Browns should be close with the Ravens defense but due to the browns offense being better than the ravens 20-17 Browns.

Jacksonville Jaguars Vs Indianapolis Cots

The Jaguars are 0-2 losing to the Titians in week one and the Bills last week. The Indianapolis Colts come off a huge come back win on the road against the Minnesota Vikings and are feeling amp to turn their season around and have it head back to the post season and perhaps in a year they can get back to the Super Bowl. In my opinion the Jaguars are in the most trouble this week judging all of the 0-2 teams Manning found his rhythm last week in the second half and I'm beting he's still hot. 27-12 Colts.

Pittsburgh Steelers Vs Philadelphia Eagles

Steelers are 2-0 and the Eagles are 1-1 coming off a loss to the Dallas Cowboys the eagles were unable to prove in the best way they fill most satisfying they are a Super Bowl contender though people are looking at them as a dangerous team the eagles still have something to prove going into this week facing off an AFC team that is thought to be top 3 in the Afc. The eagles will have another successful week moving the ball and should play better defense this week. 31-14 Eagles.

Dallas Cowboys Vs Green Bay Packers

The Cowboys and Packers are both undeafted and go into this game looking to slug it out. This has the potential to be another Cowboy Vs Eagles type match up meaning high scoring if Dallas hasn't made the neccesarry corrections to there offense however I believe Dallas has better defense and offense and as they should last week a better overall team so I have to go with Dallas this week. 42-28 Cowboys.

New York Jets Vs San Diego Chargers

This won't be as good of a Monday night game as last week or will it? Favre on Monday nights are always spectacular however the Chargers come into this game with the edge on offense and defense. Also with the Chargers being 0-2 they go into this game feeling as if they must win it a situation they are familiar with. The chargers normally gets it done in regular season games they have to win and Farve is today not the Farve of Old though has a little magic left perhaps I feel LT magic is little more of value these days. Chargers 34-12.

Falcons vs Buccaneers: NFL Week Two Game Day Analysis and Perdcitions

Recent Years: Tampa Bay leads series 17-12 and has won the last two meetings.
Last Week: Buccaneers fell short to the New Orleans Saints 24-20 while the Atlanta Falcons ran all over the Detroit Lions winning 34-21

Falcons Strength: They rushed for over 300 yards last week against the Lions and Matt Ryan showed he can make big plays deep passing for touchdown on his first throw.

Buccaneers Strength: Has a nice defense and a balanced offense

Falcons Weakness: Matt Ryan will start his second NFL game lacks the experience. They also showed to be vulnerable in there pass coverage's on defense.

Buccaneers Weakness: While showing a pretty solid running defense they were vulnerable through the air allowing three TD's and over 300 passing yards.

Outcome
This will be a very nice test for the Falcons and show where they are among the other teams in the league. The Tampa bay Buccaneers have one of the better overall defenses in the league while the Atlanta Falcons come in with rookie qb Matt Ryan. The run was sweet last week against the Detroit Lions but will prove to be a tougher task in against the Bucs because of this Matt Ryan will have a tougher time passing the ball which is why I believe the Bucs will pull this rather close game out. 21-10 Bucs.

Patriots Vs. Jets, NFL Week Two: Game Day Analysis and Predictions

Recent Years

48-46-1 with the Jets leading the series however the Patriots have been playing catch up winning the last nine out of ten games.

Last Week

Both teams pulled out victories with their defense's both tested to end the game Patriots win 17-10 over the chiefs and the Jets beat the Miami Dolphins 20-14

Patriots Strengths

They have experience around the board, the better coach and the better defense in this game. They also though without Tom Brady are better on the offensive side of the ball.

Jets Strengths

They have a veteran QB who knows how to get the ball where it needs to be also having the ability to mix in the run and get success while doing so. They also showed the ability to stop the run on defense

Patriots Weakness

The QB Cassell who gets the start this week doesn't have much experience starting a football game. Hasn't started since playing high school football.

Jets Weakness

The Jets were vulnerable on defense through the air as they allowed a Quarterback who can't throw a deep ball to gain over 200 yards on the day.

Outcome

Though the Jets seem to be a favorite in everyone's eyes I don't believe they will be able to get the job done on Sunday. They were in to close of a game against the Miami Dolphins and they allowed a quarterback with a weak arm to expose their defense. With that said Randy Moss should have spectacular numbers this week.

Thought the Jets have made very nice pickups on their offensive and defensive line this will not be enough to get the Job done. Moss is too explosive of a player for this Jets defense and the Patriot defense won't allow Farve to just toss up prayers in this competition. Patriots 30-10 Moss will be over 150 yards probably 2+ in TDs. Fantasy leaguers start him, as if you wouldn't though Moss is a starter week in and week out.

Giants Vs. Rams Week Two in the NFL Game Day Analysis and Predictions

Recent Years: Rams own the lead at 25-12 in the overall series however the Giants have won the last three meetings with Eli Manning having his best game ever against the Rams in 2005 leading the Giants to win 44-24.

Last Week: The Giants beat divisional rivals the Washington Redskins 16-7 while the Rams where blown out by the Philadelphia Eagles 38-3

Giants Strengths: Eli Manning has shown pocket presence being able to break tackles and run for first downs. As well the Giants have a nice running game and very stellar defense. Hard hitting and sack happy.

Rams Strengths: Sorry to say but the Rams haven't showed much strength this year or even last year for that matter they are in a rebuilding state.

Giants Weakness: When pressure is applied to Eli Manning he usually doesn't fair to well.

Rams Weakness: The Rams are vulnerable in the air giving up big play after big play in last week's game vs. the Eagles
Outcome

Giants will blow the Rams out similar score as last week so let's just say 38-3

Seahawks vs. 49ers NFL Week Two: Game Day Analysis and Predictions

Recent Years

Seahawks have beaten the 49ers eight of the last ten times played and won the last game 24-0 in week 10 last year.

Last Week

The 49ers lost to the Cardinals in a game that appeared to just pull away from them due to the turnovers they made. While the Seahawks didn't have much luck themselves losing to the Buffalo Bills 34-10.

49ers Strengths

They have their feature back Frank Gore to run all over people if they can establish Gore early he can open up their passing game later on through play action plays.

Seahawks Strengths

Matt Hasselback their starting Quarterback is still in their offense and has a beautiful ball with plenty of zip. He usually makes smart decisions. The Seahawks having one of the best blitzing cores in the NFL as they have been near the top for the last three years.

49ers Weakness

They allowed 109 yards on the ground and 176 yards passing which is a problem there was too much balance against them going into this week if adjustments aren't made could be another lost. They also had 6 turnovers last week

Seahawks Weakness

They have been having some trouble moving the football and with injuries at their wide out positions Matt Hasselback continues to struggle. As well gave up big plays on the special team's side of the ball. Seahawks also showed major problems protecting their qb giving up five sacks.

Outcome

In normal years Seahawks have had the advantage of the conference and especially of the 49ers the past five years, however due to serious injuries and the amount of them this will be a closer game than usual and in fact the 49ers should have the edge. To me it's there game to loose and may get a chance for some big pay back considering the 24-0 lost the Seahawks gave them last year. However it doesn't take much to catch a football when it's delivered on time and accurate and though the 49ers will get to the quarterback not 5 times and Seahawks will play a similar style game as the 49ers making this a low scoring game but only if the 49ers quarterback doesn't throw turnovers. With the blitz happy Seahawks at home a place they rarely loose no matter who they play, Seahawks should pull this out just fine. 21-13 Seahawks.
