Kane may have technically gotten a win over Big Daddy V, but Big Daddy was still standing over Big Red when all was said and done.
Kane won a handicap match against Big Daddy V and Matt Striker, getting the pin on Striker. After the bell, V took down Kane with his fireman's carry and elbow drop.
The two men legally double-teamed Kane at the start of the match, and V broke up Kane's first attempt to pin Striker. Kane managed to knock V down with a kick to the chest, then chokeslammed Striker to end the match.
Striker came out to the ring and taunted Kane by himself last week. It proved to be a mistake, as the Big Red machine came out and decimated ECW's resident teacher.
- Having taken down all his competition on ECW, CM Punk is now looking to branch out.
After defending the ECW Championship in a Triple Threat match at Survivor Series, Punk defeated SmackDown's Kenny Dykstra in another talent exchange match between the two brands.
After failing to pin Punk following a shot into the ringpost, Dykstra went to the turnbuckle. Punk knocked Dykstra off his feet, picked him up off the ropes and hit the GTS to finish the match.
Punk had a number of near falls in the match, trying to beat him with a flying kick and a springboard flying elbow but couldn't get a tree count.
- Shelton Benjamin's ECW debut was a success, as he defeated Tommy Dreamer.
The former Intercontinental and Tag Team Champion was able to match the ECW Original blow for blow before he finally delivered a flying DDT to get the win.
Benjamin was convinced to leave RAW for ECW by Elijah Burke.
- John Morrison and The Miz have brought the WWE Tag Team Championships to ECW, but their biggest competitors may still be on SmackDown.
The new champions had a ringside seat to watch Jesse and Festus defeat Deuce and Domino. After slamming Domino in the center of the ring, Festus tagged in Jesse and threw him into Domino, which Jesse turned into a pin.
Seated beside Joey Styles and Tazz, the champions told the announcers they were scouting their possible opponents and looking for weaknesses, pointing out Domino's temper and Festus' possible sloppiness in the ring.
- Kevin Thorn defeated Nunzio, finishing the match with what he calls the “Original Sin,” a neckbreaker from the top rope.
