Some tennis players prepare themselves so well for matches that they have done much of the hard work before even stepping on court. Here are some tips that should ensure you have the best possible chances of winning.
- Eat well the night before your match. Consume lots of carbohydrates and liquids. Stay away from coffee, tea, colas etc.
- Try to get as much sleep as possible
- Check and double check your kitbag to make sure you have everything. You should have at least two racquets, shorts/skirt, shirt, socks, shoes, sweatbands, balls, high carb snacks and plenty of water.
- Get a good meal in not more than two hours before the match starts. Hydrate yourself well.
- Get to the match venue well before the match is due to start. Stretching and warming up is essential.
