It was my cousin which introduced me to this fascinating activity. He used to be a diving instructor, he still does it often. At first, he thought I was too young to take part. However, eventually I convinced him to give me a chance to experience this desired activity.
While I was waiting to get on the boat, I watched as all the more advanced divers collected their gear. I was still shocked that I was going to be in their position in a matter of hours.
I wanted us to reach the diving area as quickly as possible. However, after a long wait, the boat started to glide smoothly through the calm crystal-clear waters. During the two hour journey, I passed the time by sleeping and observing the sea life from above. While I was studying the sea, I noticed this magnificent sea creature with cold black eyes and a colourful body just slithering in and out of the fascinating corals. This was my first view of Underwater Life, and I loved it.
Finally, we had reached our destination. I rushed to get my equipment filled with excitement. I was able to equip most of the gear; however I had trouble with the heavy oxygen tank. When I equipped everything I needed, I plunged straight into the clear blue water, as soon as I touched the water, I felt more relaxed than I had ever been. I felt no weight on my back, all I felt was happiness and relaxation. When I got used to the fascinating waters, I swam straight to the seabed that was where most of the fish were. When my stomach touched the seabed I brought out the camera, and started capturing my precious moments, the memories that would cherish my life forever. However there were some dangers in the sea, I was told the corals were sharper than a blade, and that they could even cut through my oxygen tank. Also another fear was swimming up to the surface too quickly, as your lungs may literally explode because of the pressure.
When we had finished diving and started the journey back, all I was thinking about was how great this experience was, and all the fish I had witnessed. From that moment, I dive every summer and it never gets boring.
