Nascar: Need for Speed

Car racing and all the extras.

The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) was founded in 1948 by Ed Otto and William France Sr. for the purpose of promoting the sport of stock car racing. Throughout the years the sport of stock car racing has changed drastically. For instance, a long time ago the cars of NASCAR never had restrictor plates but now they do by the cause of some deaths in the racing family. A few drivers have managed to stay healthy throughout their career, however in my opinion the greatest racer ever to live was Dale Earnhardt SR. he raced for a very long time until his time was up and he crashed into a wall at Daytona international speedway and died instantly. There are a few other great racers like Richard petty and Ralph Earnhardt that are true NASCAR legends.

When drivers race in an exhibition race their cars can get up to 150 degrees hot, which is why they are required to wear flame proof racing gear including gloves, pants, boots, a helmet and a hoodie like jacket so they wont catch on fire or get to hot in a race.

The tracks they race at can be found at Tracks.

The most famous track in the NASCAR series today has got to be the Daytona 500! Fans wait all year long for it and at the beginning of January the green flag waves and thousands of fans stand on their feet in anticipation and excitement.

There are also different companies that other teams race for which are like the minor leagues of NASCAR, these are called the bush series races. The bush series races all take part at the same track of the regular NASCAR cars race at, just on a different day and time. Some of the racers today are, dale Earnhardt Jr. Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick, Juan Pablo Montoya, Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson, Todd Bodine and the bush family. Some of the team names are, D.E.I, Hendrick motorsports, and some other teams that I can't remember…anyway I hope you liked my article on NASCAR and the sport of stock car racing.
