How to Wheelie a Motorcycle/Motorbike

Ever wondered how the street gangsters pull off those wheelies like they are reading a Six-year-olds storybook? This short article will have you lifting that front wheel in no time at all.

There are five key ingredients to a wheelie.

These are:

  1. Speed
  2. Acceleration
  3. Suspension These two are combined
  4. Weight
  5. Stance/Position

Now we will go through all these factors in detail.

  1. Speed will make your wheelie easy and your front wheelie will feel a bit edgy already if you're clocking up 90kmph. Use this to your advantage. Stay at 90, however if you want a monster wheelie, get it down to 80kmph.
  2. Acceleration is what will determine your wheelies size, and control. For a starter, head on a long straight without many stupid cars around, and hit it. Absolutely gun it. Feel the revs clock up underneath you. From 90 to 110 in 3.5 is around the ratio needed.
  3. Suspension is what will make your bike lift. Add all your weight onto the front forks, and none, or little, on the rear suspension. Quickly, (while accelerating for your life) transfer your weight, leaving none on the front, and it all on the back. In other words, lean forward then lean back.
  4. Your weight should stay back, but don't go too far back. Keep your buttocks back, but your body forward, to counterbalance.
  5. Keep weight on foot-pegs at all time, with your buttocks 5cm off the seat.

Take note

  • 600cc bikes are the best for wheelies, as they are light and quick
  • Honda CBR600RR is probably a must have for a wheelie maestro
  • Always wear protective gear
  • Always wear a helmet, as you could die.

Caution

Motorcycling is dangerous, and should be treated with caution. Always wear a helmet and don't try to wheelie too big if you suck.

Tips

The best way to impress chicks is by stacks, so by some paint, and pretend you fell off. Also, make up a story about how you had to fight off mountain lions, sea monkey and artic leopards.
