Penner-Horcoff-Hemsky
On this line, Penner is a big body who can protect the puck well and score as well. But his play-making skills aren't par so he has to rely on Horcoff or Hemsky to make a outlet pass. Hemsky can pass and visualize what will happen next while Horcoff is a more all around type player who could be there in the back end in case anything happens.
Expendable Players
Next to none. If you can find a replacement for Penner who's team will want Penner then you get the green light.
Nilsson-Gagner-Cogliano
On this line this line, Cogliano scores the most. His speed helps him get into high traffic areas quickly and create high quality chances. Gagner and Nilsson are there to pass to Cogliano but they can sometimes score some goals themselves. Gagner has the hands to deck out players but his speed is a problem, allowing players to catch up to him.
Expendable Players
This line is very young and could be shifted around the lineup. No one is expecting anyone to be traded on this line.
Moreau/Torres-Stoll-Pisani
Torres and Moreau share the same type of role on this line, hard-checking. One of the main reason Torres was given such a contract was because he was able to score about 25 goals before but has quickly lost his touch. In fact he has quickly lost value due to his lack of production and the fact that he was also injured. Stoll is also Torres like, scoring only half of his total point production from two years before. Pisani is a player who actually improved after getting a on the verge career ending injury. In the last two years he has scored a average of 15 goals per but has scored 13 goals while playing 21 games less than last season.
Expendable players
Stoll and Torres are definitely primary in this list. Two players who take up valuable caps space that could be used for a upgrade. Reports of Stoll being shopped definitely confirm this.
Glencross-Brodziak-Stortini
This line has great chemistry. Glencross and Brodziak can pass and carry the puck quite well and Stortini is a good forechecker. This is also a great energy line that can bring back the momentum.
Expendable Players
Glencross could be replaced by Torres but Torres is much more expensive. Stortini could also be replaced by a better fighter.
Pitkanen-Gilbert
Gilbert is a absolute GOD when it comes to passing out of danger areas. He can quickly pass the puck out and can be a great forechecker due to his great instinct on when to pinch. Pitkanen is a excellent skater who can backcheck really fast
Expendable Players
Pitkanen may be traded because f his price tag but reports this has proven otherwise. Many people also think that Pitkanen is overrated.
Souray-Grebeshlov
Souray has a great shot and is average with the puck. Grebeshkov has progressed greatly this year and is a lock in the top six.
Expendable Players
Grebeshkov won't likely move anytime soon because he just signed that contract. Souray has a NTC but his injury problems may force KL to discuss the possibility of waiving it.
Staios-Greene Smid
Staios is a good utility player that has regressed to his age. Greene/Smid could is very aggressive during play and after the whistle but both are below average defensively
Garon
Looking forward to seeing him bounce back after a unfortunate year-end injury
Roloson
May be shopped due to being a backup who earns three million.
