The sport of cricket is a very graceful and fascinating sport. It is the national sport of England, and most every country plays it internationally except for the United States. Well, here are the basics.
In cricket, the game usually has two teams, each consisting of 11 players. There is a toss or a coin flip if you please, and the winning captain chooses whether his team bats or bowls first. If your team is batting first, you will go stand in front of the wickets and wait for the bowler to toss the ball down the pitch. After the bowl, the batsman hits the ball with the paddle and runs to the other end of the pitch; they do this as many times as they can before the bowler gets the ball back. There are many ways to get out, if a bail sitting atop of the wicket gets knocked off they the batter is out. The team stays at batting until all of their players have been out at least once. The field is shaped like a big oval with many different types of positions. The out and midfielders wear no equipment unlike some infielders who wear gloves to catch oncoming balls.
Well, there is much more to cricket then that, but that would be a very basic overview if you just wanted to get the jest of it.
