Why Mike Tyson is a Hero

What do you think the qualities are of a “hero?” Is it someone who does all the write things, or is it someone who struggles and eventually become great. When I think of a hero, it’s someone that at one point struggled in his life but managed to do well. When I think of the word “hero,” I think if Mike Tyson. As a kid Mike Tyson struggled growing up. His father left him and he was living in the bad parts or New York. Everyone would pick on him because of his childish voice, and he never even graduated high school because he got expelled for fighting.

Mike Tyson is a hero because of what he managed to do inside the ring. Instead of becoming a “nobody” he managed to workout in the weight room and practice boxing. He was finally noticed by a popular trainer, were he showcased his talent. On March 6 1985, Mike Tyson had his first win by a knockout in the first round. Tyson would eventually go on to win the next 19 fight by knockout, (most being in the first round.) By the time Mike Tyson was 20 years old he became the youngest heavy weight champion in the world.

Iron Mike was a hero to his sport; he revolutionized the sport of boxing. Whenever you think of great boxers, you think of people like, Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Mike Tyson. Despite his hard times, you have to remember where he came from. Tyson was at one point a teenager who was going no where, but 10 years later he would be a boxing champion. Tyson is an athlete who is passionate about the sport he played, although sometimes like liked to bite people’s ears. But that’s for another essay.

Overall Mike Tyson is my hero, because he shows that you can make something out of nothing. By the end of Tyson’s career, he was won 50 fight…44 of them were by knockout. Tyson shows that with hard work and dedication, you can do anything you can set your mind too.
