World Snooker Championship 2007

A brief review of this years tournament and how it is gearing up for an exciting final.

The World Snooker Championship has been as exciting as ever this year with some new kids on the block coming through.

Mark Selby has reached the final by coming from the qualifying rounds and beating two former world champions. If he remains positive against John Higgins in the final he will have a realistic chance of winning the competition.

In the early stages of the tournament there were problems with the table as the balls were running too quickly and they had to change the cloth.

Last years winner, Graeme Dott fell at the first hurdle and was the first shock of the competition. Seasoned pro's like Steve Davis and John Parrott didn't progress that far and quickly returned to their television duties for the BBC.

There have been talks in the past of moving the venue for the World Snooker away from The Crucible Theater, Sheffield. The Crucible is synonymous with snooker and it would be a big mistake for the sport.

I only wish I was a good as the professionals who play today, and win some of the massive amounts of money that is in the sport - oh well, I can dream.
