Denver in the East! Raleigh, N.C. in the Midwest! Denver in the South! Anaheim, CA. in the South! Tampa, FL. and Washington, D.C. in the West! That's where some of the regional games in the NCAA Men's College Basketball Tournament will be played. I don't know about any of you, but it seems the guys who decided this need a map.
There will be 8 first round games in the West regional and and only two will be played out West. The other six will be played in Tampa and Washington, D.C. That's just a bit odd.
Well, I guess it's really not a bit odd when you think about it. Oregon, Arizona and Kentucky all made the big dance and none won 20 games. So go figure.
I don't know the reason for any of this, but it seems very odd to me. Or maybe the selection committee is just bad at geography. After all there expertise is basketball, well you would think it was anyway.
