Virginia Commonwealth University and Duke played an awesome one-on-one basketball game on March 15, 2007. The game was held at Buffalo, New York. Both teams came to play their hearts out, but sadly there can only be one winner and it was VCU seventy-nine, Duke seventy-seven. It was a struggle between both teams but the better team showed their stuff!
Duke held the lead almost the entire game putting a whole lot of pressure on VCU. The last five minutes of the game VCU came back and tied it with ten seconds in the second quarter. The person who tied the game was Duke?s DeMarcus Nelson. He ran the entire court and made a lay-up to tie the game seventy-seven to seventy-seven. VCU?s Eric Maynor dribbled the ball up the court and scored with one point eight seconds left in the game. Duke then tried for a quick throw in and shot, but missed making VCU the winner.
I have to say this was a really good comeback for VCU being down so much in the game. They really stood up and showed their skills under the pressure of the game. This game was really an adrenaline rush to all VCU fans that watched this game. I was really happy with the turn out of this game, weren?t you?
