Lets start out with LeBrons stats for game five. He managed to gather 48 points on 18-33 shooting, 10-14 from the line, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 steals. LeBron scored 25 of his 48 points in the fourth quarter. The only time LeBron looked human was when he took on questions from the media after a 50 minute game. I don't know how much Cleveland is making off of their team this year, but I'd definitely say giving LeBron his sum odd $5,828,089 was well beyond worth it. Only 2 other players on the entire Cavs team scored over 10 points. Only six Cav players, besides LeBron, scored in this ESPN instant classic game 5.
Due to the All-Star like performance the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Detroit Pistons in Detroit 109-107 after James hit a game winning lay-up with only seconds left on the clock (not mentioning the fact that he was also fouled). I must say the Eastern Conference as a whole should be thanking this man for his output in this 2007 play-offs, because I am. The Eastern Conference before this point was as dead as the NHL (National Hockey League), for those of you that forgot what NHL actually stood for.
LeBron is putting up sensational performances against the team that should have closed this series out in five games tops. It truly is a case of David vs. Goliath. I don't think any NBA critic picked the Cleveland Cavaliers to be in the Eastern Conference Finals, let alone, one game away from a chance to play the Spurs. I'm sure we all picked the Pistons to win in five or six games. Even the beloved Cavalier fan probably picked them to lose in seven on an open observation.
LeBron James, also known as King James, has put up one of the best play-off performance seen over the last several years. Probably sitting next to one of Jordan's MANY great games and the boxing match between Vince Carter and Allen Iverson a few years back in that Finals battle to play the lakers. Not only did LeBron score the teams last 25 points. He did so; in Detroit, against double teams from Prince and Billups, in game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals, and all of it done from the fourth quarter to the end of the sizzling 2nd overtime.
What a great game from both teams and probably the first time in two years that I've actually enjoyed watching an Eastern Conference game. LeBron James alone has up-lifted my NBA spirits, which were buried deep down after the Suns were buried deep down by the Spurs.
Now the Cleveland "LeBrons", as i like to call them, have to come up with a big W at home. If they fail to do so I don't believe that LeBron and his small cast of strangers can take Detroit at HOME in game SEVEN. On that note, I believe the Cav's will win game six and they will go on to lose to the Spurs in the finals. My educated guess is that it will be a short series (4 or 5 games).
Yes, LeBron is not mortal anymore, but the Cav's run on a three man roster at best. They just don't have a chance. Looking more towards the brighter side of the sun, LeBron James should be thanked for making great TV for all the NBA viewers out there. LeBrons play only leads to one simple discussion question. Do we want to see Detroit and San Antonio go at it?... Or do we want to see if LeBron can do the impossible?
My opinion? LeBron... Just Do It!
