Basketball

How to play basketball in three easy steps.

Learn Techniques

First, you have to understand the object of dribbling, shooting, and passing. Some people I know dribble with one hand then they just toss the ball. That is not how you play basketball. You have to learn to dribble with both hands and shoot by putting one hand under the ball and one hand on the left hand of the basketball. You can learn to dribble by bouncing the ball in one spot with one hand after you learned how to bounce the ball in one spot try running with the same hand and bouncing it, after you've mastered that you can repeat the drill but this time with your opposite hand. Passing is very simple you just have to throw the ball to your teammates.

Learn the System

Second, you have to learn about how the system works. You have to understand that you have to prevent the other team from scoring by shooting the ball and getting it in the hoop. Each time you score on the other teams hoop you get 2 points. It goes the same way for your opponents. So remember that you can't let your opponent get past you and your teammates to score. Remember “the best defense is the best offence”. It means if you play good defense then the other team can't score points and you have more chances to score.

Learn the Rules

Last, you have to understand the rules. You can find 12 pages of rules from the National Basketball Association starting here.

I definately disagree althogh fundamentals are the key to the game, it is not the deciding factor. Good write up, and great detail for many valid points but your obviously not a coach.

I agree fundamentals is the foundation but execution and poise is the reason you promote from good to great. Nicely put points but...well like he said you are not a coach, stick to writing.
